Black Tusk 11/14/07 powabonga!
Whistler went from zero to hero over the past week with buckets of snow dumping on us for the past few days. Somehow RugbyDave convinced Gonads to sled chaufer Dave, Atrain up Black Tusk to get our fix.
not off to a good start. RugbyDave puts the truck in the ditch. ouch
luckily there was an FJ cruiser on hand to yank that thing out
After a long ass arm cramping tow ride up behind the sled we arrived to find this.
and this...
we were shuttling off one sled and these cool doods offered to sled shuttle with us which really made the day all that much more enjoyable. thanks guys!
Nads the sled queen comin around for another lap
my new skins are ski-do, I'll have another lap please!
By afternoon it started dumping again and we were beat, so we bailed about the same time my legs turned to junk. Sorry no ski picks because with the shuttling we didn't ski together. Maybe someone else got some?? I suffered from powder intoxication on every run and was way too stoked to stop and wait.
Thanks Nads for being a team player and hooking us up!

Nice - any idea what was snow depth? What elevation were you guys at? Any chance to look at the other side of the valley to brandywine to see conditions?

We ended up skiing the trees directly below the microwave towers because as you can see from the above pic, the north face is super wind loaded. I didnt take any measurements, but Id say theres a good solid meter base up there with knee deep to waist deep pow. It deteriorated very quickly below 1500 meters or so. You're going to need a sled, helicopter or chairlift to reach the goods.

Hahahahaha I can't believe you called dave out on that one.
You forgot the whole cat driver "Was that your pink truck? Yeah... I pushed it into the ditch, you're stuck again"
All I have to say is thank god there's a little MacGyver in all of us.
Lee this is what Brandywine looked like.
"Think you can rolling start that in second?"
Heli skiiing....
riiiight.
Drop off point.
Well done... wow, I have never been so happy to be home with the toys in one piece before in my life.

Oh, as per request. I owe Powder11 a photo of my "grape ape" pickup getting recovered, from one of the many incidents.
But where, WHERE WILL YOU PUT YOUR SLED?

Fucking wicked. I also need money for a sled. And a truck. Not sure if the wrx can handle the towing. Way to get at it, I can't wait until Saturday.
