That is funny, I must have the same thing. I can't seem to pinpoint right where my cough is coming from, but it seems to be somewhere between the chin and the adams apple. I'd better go check on it tomorrow.

Right now i am leaning towards the beast, maybe getting there early for a skinned lap or two. Not sure if i want to make the drive to MRG, after Thursday driving up and back alone, and driving to Jay this past weekend. Thats a lot of carbon emissions. I may have to make the call in the mourning after i clear the snow at 5:00am.

When I left work at 6ish it hadn't started. Everything is pretty damn good already so this should make it $$$.

One note....The Red Line (trail) will be closed Wednesday and most likely Thursday while work is completed on the Red Lift. Despite Magic's usual passive rope ducking policy, this closure is not to be taken lightly. We are really asking everyone to stay off the trail. There will be a fair amount of equipment on the trail that will make it unsafe. Failure to obey the closed status WILL result in loss of pass/ticket. Thanks for your support.

There is still a ton of great terrain to be had. The opening of the Red Chair will more than make up for the relatively short closure.

Finally....I will be updating the snowreport at the ass crack of dawn (think 5ish). If anyone wants to really know whats happening in SO VT, magicmtn.com will be the place to go. Hope to see some maggots in the 9am lineup.

awesome, thank bb. hope to see you tommorow. if the forecast is still calling for rain/sleet in the am, then i don't think i'm up for it. otherwise i'm the guy with clownshoes. how do you guys enforce the whole "wednesday carpool" thing? do we have to like roll up to the front and show that we all came together? or do we just come up to the ticket office together?

So I'm looking at the maps right now and that pink line is drifter ever closer. I'm thinking about calling an audible and heading for Jay instead of Mad River.

    i'm out

was in jackson for jan. and had deep pow every day, came home for a couple of weeks only to ski frozen granular. i guess i was lucky that the last two weeks we were suppied with some fresh snow/sleet. it goes to show you how bad the snow has been this year (in the east) when people are lining up at the lifts 1/2 hour before the lifts open for only 6"-8" of snow.
i'm heading back out west for some comps. and will be praying for snow back here.

    good luck

Shit we had a perfect 8-10 of super light and fluffy a half hour ago now its stating to ice.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Looks to be about 6" in Jackson & it's still coming down nice & light - heading to Bear Peak & hoping I can get a few in before it starts changing over. NWS calling for 1/2" of ice on top of all this?

Ahhhh what to do. It is freezing rain/sleeting here right now, but it's weird snow. Not heavy, more like sugary styrofoam almost.

Nearly 5 inches of light and fluffy capped with an inch of sleet and now up to .4" of water ice on top. Temp = 31 and it's a torrential downpour through the fog. Slush and ice blocking all the storm drains and the streets are deep with water running in the tire tracks, branches down all over and the wind is supposed to come up later. Beautiful day here!
