Nov. 16... what's it looking like for opening weekend?
I told you to tell them

I wouldn't make the trip for Shoshone, that's for damn sure!

For all others who don't know, Shoshone is just the beginner/ski school lift...I will post what I know when I know it. 3"-4" of dense snow at my house in Victor right now, so who knows...

They just say they aren't opening on Friday. Does that mean that Saturday is a possibility. I'm going anyway...

opening?
Resort won't open until Monday at the earliest. Keep calling the snow phone as the call to open will get made with less than 24 hours notice.
Big wet flakes are falling right now, good base building kind of flakes! If this keeps up Monday could be the day! Im skinning up in an hour or so, will report back with findings.

Bumping this up. Anyone have any beta from the weekend? We were heading that way tomorrow. Am I getting stuck working tomorrow?

I was there Sat working. It was raining at the base in the morning, switched over to snow and then back to rain. Lot of fun putting up rope lines in the rain! Good news was that it was dumping on top.

Phone line says they are still short and they need 24 hours from their target snow depth. Looks like I'm working tomorrow.

I visited yesterday to take a look. Snow down to the base. Looked skiable and openable to me. Still a bit of grass poking through, but that's a helluva lot better than the grassfest in Park City at the moment

Looks like another inch of snow last night, 2" as of the snow phone and snowing. Report says they still need 12". I think they are stalling. Snowed here most of the morning but it didn't stick well. Oh well, hopefully they are open this weekend or our reservations will be bunk. I doubt the wife will take kindly to hiking.

Just heard - sounds like Targhee is opening tomorrow.
Dreamcatcher will be running with everything north of the summit open.
Damn - wish I didn't have to work tomorrow.Last edited by MuleSkinner; 11-20-2007 at 04:25 PM.
