No joke, I've always thought Black Thought is one of the best ever, but that might put him in the top spot. That would be sick if it was a written rhyme, going for ten minutes in one take, but Thought said in an interview it was all freestyle - ridiculous. After seeing that the other day I actually went looking for freestyle verses posted on youtube, crazy what some MCs can do, but nothing touches this.

Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

This might be better suited for the Illmatic thread, but since that Thought freestyle got thrown it here... If Black Thought is number 1, I'd put Royce as 1A. Prhyme 2 is about to drop, for sure gonna be sick. Hopefully Flex can get Pharoahe Monch or Mos Def in for a 10 minute session sometime soon.

Tribe’s Midnight Marauders and Wu Tang’s 36 Chambers released 25 years ago. Doesn’t get better.

Technically not Old School, but it is vintage New School...

Nice Gravediggaz article in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of their debut album, 6 Feet Deep:

Hit up this farm brewery the other weekend (Goat House: https://www.goathousebrewing.com/) and they had an IPA dubbed "Kool Mo' Dee-Lish".

    Blurreds old school rap/hip-hop thread

Tonight’s the night for hip hop fans. DJ Premier VS Rza on Premier’s IG live.

Also, Lord Finesse has been doing a couple of live spots on his IG live every week. It’s been awesome!
