is there a new school thread?

Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

Notwithstanding Dookey's timeline, there is stuff from all over in this thread up to the late 90s. So, depending on whether pre 2000 can fall in this thread, here are some Jams that haven't been covered (personal favs of mine):

Rakim - New York (Ya Out There)

    Gza - Liquid Swords

Raekwon - Ice Cream - Cappadona KILLS IT in this song - amazing album period.

    Jay-Z - Brooklyn's Finest (ft. Biggy)

Run DMC - Its Like That

Slick Rick & Doug E Fresh - The Show

GZA "Liquid Swords" is one of the best single album efforts by a member of the Wu.

Good news: the Roots newest, 'How I Got Over', sounds pretty damn good, to me. One critic compared it to Marvin Gaye's 'Whats Going On', which may be a bit of a stretch...

Bad news: they showed up at 11pm Monday night for their first DC show at the 9:30. No big deal, unless you had to be up at 5:30 the next day...
