TR: When two girls in pants of blue go skiing with three maggots too

    11-9-2007
When two girls in pants of blue go skiing with three maggots too

    SydViscous and mtnbikerskierchick are
Two maggettes who ski both near and far.
We teamed up with 3 maggots who
Are really pretty rippin’ skiers too!
All of us headed out for the day to ski
To get out of the heat, that was key!

We headed for the snow on Jones Pass
“What, there’s snow somewhere”, you ask?
Well let your own eyes do the looking below.
In certain places, you’ll find plenty of snow!

The road up to Jones Pass was not nice.
It’s awfully scary when it’s covered in ice.
And the Tacoma tried to make it upward,
But suddenly we felt ourselves sliding backward!
We had no control of our speed during the slide,
So goldenboy steered us into some dirt on the side.
But from there we couldn’t go forward or back.
So out came the shovels to put some dirt on our track.

D-side loves to shovel we found out
I think he grew up in the Boy Scouts.
This is the road before with ice

But D-side shoveled until it was really nice!

So, up up up, and away we go!
Jones Pass, here we come, to find some snow!
Here, here, here can you see?
This is what we’ve come all this way to ski!

The maggettes both wore pants of blue
But it’s easy not to confuse the two.
For SydVicious is a great deal taller
And MBSC, well, she’s a whole lot smaller

At the top of the pass there was a truck.
Somehow this truck had gotten stuck.

There was a note inside the window here.
The owners will come to get it next year!

SydVicious likes to let her heal lift.
The tele-turn, that’s quite her gift!

MBSC was just happy to be skiing,
Snow is her element, part of her being.

Zack, the guy who’s dressed in black,
Was ready to ski, ready to attack!

D-side does a good job of shredding the gnar
I think he’s having a pretty good season so far!

Goldenboy was visiting from Crested Butte
And wished he’d brought his one-piece suit.
But had fun shredding all the same
And at the end of the day was glad he came.

The snow on Jones last weekend was great
This weekend the sun had made it quite baked.
Colorado needs some snow now- bad!
Otherwise this ski season will make me sad

Powder snow skiing is not fun. It’s life, fully lived, life lived in a blaze of reality. What we experience in powder is the original human self, which lies deeply inside each of us, still undamaged in spite of what our present culture tries to do to us. Once experienced, this kind of living is recognized as the only way to live–fully aware of the earth and the sky and the gods and you, the mortal, playing among them. Dolores LaChapelle

    Another day another buck,
    another payment on the truck,
no money to fix the transmission shucked,
its left it in the mountains where its stuck,
will return to fix the gears next year if its here,
don't steal it because your pants are blue,
this note right here is telling you,
    its owner is staying true.

There is no reason yet to be sad,
only time will tell if the snow this year is bad,
it could be this dry spell is a fad,
but for sure this TR was totally rad.

    Nice poetry.

Sad to see that this promised low turns out weaker again and only a few inches are in the forecast.

But yeah I hope we just save it for a big dump next week!

I like the idea of guys and girl doing stuff on skiis. In my ski time such romantic occupation was however interrupted with the constant humming of helicopters transporting the severly injured off Lechs slopes all day.So i felt free to forget about it and focus on skiing only.

I saw your tracks when I was up there yesterday. It's getting a little thin. Solid effort though.

I fear that the true owners of the truck
Will, in the spring, find their truck even MORE stuck.
For marmots love old trucks more than humans do.
It makes a great meal for them to eat too!

Most TR fun in ages. Nice!
