Sport Betting online - ever do it?
I've only once put placed a money bet on a sporting (or other) event and that was in Las Vegas.
Has anyone ever placed a bet online? How does it work exactly? You need to subscribe first to a website, but the ones that I've looked aren't very clear on payment (placing best and collecting winnings).
Someone at work pointed this website out.

Thanks for the info.

I use Sportsbook.com.
I think they are based in Canada, so I get checks in the mail via FedEx. I don't recall that setting up the account was all that difficult. Check that out.

Yes. It's pretty easy. Almost too convenient.

Bodog is good. My only complaint is that they don't pay out quickly anymore due to US regulations. I'm not sure if you'd have the same issues in Canada. For example, I requested some winnings at the end of the baseball season, before the start of the playoffs, and have still not recieved my coin. Not sure if they'll ever send it. I've been told that they can only send out a certain number of checks a day because they're worried about the US gov cracking down on them. Who knows? But yeah, bodog is good...easy.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that

Thanks for all the information. For some reason the sportsbook site only has United States in the pulldown menu to open a new account.
Just registered on Betfair, however I seem to be able to see odds and place a bet.

Wtf? "Not sure if they'll ever send it"????? How the hell can you say Bodog is good and say that in the same post? The #1 concern with any site should be the payouts, not how easy it is to open an account and deposit money.
Search around, find some sports betting forums and try to figure out which sites are decent. I've heard that Sportsbook.com and Betfair are decent, but don't have any real experience with them myself - I do all my gambling at B&M books.“Don’t want to sound like a dick or nothing but it says on your chart you’re fucked up. You talk like a fag, and your shit’s all retarded.”

bump. anyone have any recommendations on a site with easy withdrawal, that you can actually get your money out of?
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?
fuck that noise.
gmen.

I find it's best to use a bunch of different sites. More specifically, after you cash out once switch sites. This gives you the new member benefits and the free cash out. They start charging for withdrawls/cashouts after the first one.
