Pretty sure my epoxy is overkill, but it's not...
Pretty sure my epoxy is overkill, but it's not much hassle and it gives me peace of mind. When you get those threads lined up, the screws just roll in like the holes are tapped.

You have it right, use the back-screw method you mentioned and hand tighten. I've had 1 screw cross thread, but not worried about it because of the epoxy and steel wool.

I've reused pivot holes and bindings on at least 4 pairs of skis without the screw keeper issue you refer to. But if it's a problem, you can always take the screws out of the binding and gently drill...

Has anyone used a boot toe mark to mount...
Has anyone used a boot toe mark to mount bindings? Do I use the actual boot toe, or the flange(?) part in front?
I have an older ski and the boot toe is the only reference point. -

I recently asked my local shop to order 2 sets of FKS screws, toes and heels. ~$12.50 per set. They arrived at the shop a few days ago but I'm going to wait to pick them up.

I thought the process was... jig at correct bsl, drill the toe holes, then close the jig at the heels only by 5mm and drill the heels? NOT THIS

That makes sense, I have a copy of the Look Tech Manual from 2004/05 that says, "Binding holes should be 5mm or more apart".
