Do DHF’s suck on wet roots or is it me? New bike came stock with a DHF/Dissector combo, finally got some rain so was riding over wet roots and rocks for the first time and it felt like the tires...

There is always the possibility you just had bad luck. Now if you keep doing that to the same brand of tire, but no other, then I’d say it’s the tire.
