Anyone played around in Kendall trees or Kendall knob with this new snow?

With the heavy expected snowfall tomorrow and Wednesday, Friday looks like the best backcountry day this week. At least for the Crystal area

Explored the skin track to Mt. Catherine today up to the clearing on the North facing side at 4100' (47.3759, -121.4305). Lots of funky crust/ice top layers from last night's weather. Lots of fun...

Has anyone played around West Peak across from Crystal yet?

Even on the NW facing lines of the peak? From the top angling slight skiers left.
From Google Earth and CalTopo it seemed there was a sweet spot of lower consequences and cliffs from the peak.

Noted. Thanks. Yah this area and Roaring Ridge/Mt. Catherine area seemed like the most learner friendly areas of the pass. Good terrain with lower consquences

Ahh so you can scope the lines. That makes a lot of sense

Thanks for pointing that out. After checking the contour lines, I shifted the skin track to crest the ridge earlier so there isn't any wrap around to the west face.

I'm trying to make a basic CalTopo touring map for Kendall Peak in the Alpental area, and am unsure about the skin track to the west flank by the peak.
