In a slightly similar boat. Supposed to fly into Spokane on 2/16 with the fam (kids are 7 and 17). Plan is/was to ski 4 days at Red and 2-3 at Schweitzer.

Thur was fun,Friday was amazing, especially 22. Saturday wasn't nearly as light but essentially ski onto lift lapping 1 and 2 all morning was fantastic.

Same experience on the drive out....

We had our 5 year old in Summiteers this year and really liked it. 8 days starting in January, no class on MLK and the two weekends around Presidents' Day. Definitely pricier than it was 6 years ago...

Was in Markleeville for the DR this weekend. Cycled up to the hot springs on Fri around 2pm. Smokey but didn't sense it was going to escalate so quickly. Within a few hours that changed dramatically....

Caltrans is closing Monitor Pass at 4am on Saturday ahead of the potential storm so I highly doubt any additional gates are opened on 108 or 120.

Went to college in San Diego. For years my buddies told me not to waste my time with skiing outside of LA. Just save my money for a Tahoe/Mammoth trip. First trip to Baldy we skipped class, lot runs...

Didn't read the entire book but I skimmed through "Trees of the California Sierra Nevada" while out at the Pear Lake Hut in March. Seemed pretty solid as well.

This part is pretty lame. As far as I know at many IKON resorts kids 4 and under are still free. Pre COVID when I asked a rep why they were charging such a large amount when they can ski for free...

Skied the SE face of Dunderberg today. Waited 2 hrs for it to soften. Top never really did. Pretty firm and variable for the top 1k. Lower portion skied well and right to the car.
