I LOVE my Blur 4X for S.D. races. Got a Pike on the front and it is super cornering machine plus with the slack head angle, you can roll almost anything. Even the sorta burly Angel Fire race it did...

sounds like you have a dirty valve on the shock or the pump. Blow it out with some air and add a very small drop of some type of lube (make sure it is petro based and not a wax type). worked for me...
