With that type of tear, you're best option is physical therapy…surgery isn't going to do much unless your knee is locking, all they'll do is trim out parts of your meniscus which puts you on the road...

8 weeks since surgery

after my PT visit this morning- no more brace, no more crutches!

i'll be in utah end of march/early april - obv no snowboarding, but i'm allowed to go hiking

interesting, i've always thought (my surgeon also agreed) that skiers suffer knee injuries at a higher rate, whereas shoulder/wrist injuries seem to be the more common snowboard injury.

what I think gives me the most anxiety about this is that even the doctors, surgeons, and therapists admit that there's still a lot about the meniscus they just don't fully know.

this morning at PT i got on the stationary bike for the first time!
now I'm also allowed to walk with the brace...

a hurt MCL/meniscus isn't putting your ACL at greater risk to tear, if that's your fear - don't worry.

you don't have a life threatening injury, plenty of pros have finished off their seasons on...

at worst, doctor will find something serious like a blown ACL -- and advise against skiing, but can't stop you from it. Plenty of skiers with torn ACLs skiing with braces
