I would not consider any of those to be a "touring ski"

Shimano PRO form was worthless in 2020, i sat on one for 6 months and didn't even use it- zippo in stock for anything worthwhile

I lived in CS 2008-2010 and was just back recently. It has improved a lot and is a good spot to be. Anywhere West of I25 is where I would live- closer to trails/ feels like your in the mountains.......

Probably too late for any input on build but i have force 1x on a gravel build and its great... going 1x really diminishes a lot of the advantage electronic has... that said when new force axs comes...

I skied Mammoth on Friday and the wind buff was great (top was closed though :/)... then Squaw on Saturday which was awful- there was a light rain/ freeze overnight which turned it to frozen crust...

-get skate skis, make sure flex for ski is suited for bodyweight this is important
-get boots with NNN/prolink compatability, don't get pilot/sns- this is quickly fading away
-get decent poles...

I disagree- I have the Helio 105 and they are too light and chattery for use inbounds. Sure they can be used inbounds but i would go for the heavier Links

i've been playing around a lot with both of these in store/ carpet lately. If 70% resort and short tours i'd go lab- its def stiffer. If its a 100% tour boot the ROM in explore is much better.

long time lurker- finally joined. Lots of good info here and hope to contribute. BTW- i'm the best skier on the mountain, sun valley sucks and vail is flat.
