8 and 9 were on wind hold early in the day yesterday. They closed 1 behind us...never experienced that kind of gusting on 1 before in the 20+ years skiing Loveland. It was running slow and chairs...

Been there, done that, rescued the injured patroller who was mostly covered in a drift...wasn't a good day that day.

First time I've seen 4, 8 and 9 all shut down because of wind. What was open skied decent where the wind wasn't carving Utah canyon like sastrugi features a foot + deep.

Looks like some of the south side of the ridge is being prepped for opening.

Not a bad couple weekends at Loveland. The Ridge finally opened only Patrol Bowl but it had a little loose and chalky edgableness. A few inches of new overall.

Even better after a couple WM VHS...

This change has us thinking about other options. The close in camping around CB is awesome.

Yup patrolling in a storm or whiteout is brutal up there so decisions have to be made. Friends and I were doing laps a few years ago and found a patroller hurt being drifted over. 9 was closed down...
