^^ Yep, which is why I said you have to stay on top of them whereas BG’s are pivoty as hell, which is kind of the point of RES.

First, it's not like I'm bashing the Wrens - I'm the one who's a huge fan of the 108's. The BG's are quicker to turn than Wrens (except maybe the 96's), I'm willing to bet the overwhelming majority...

Wrens in general are not as good in the trees as BG’s. They’re fine but you do have to be on top of them. BG’s are more nimble.

Totally. There are some skis out there I've wanted to try that only came in 179 (too short) and 189 (too long). So I never bothered and moved on.

Given the way ON3P's measure long with a straight pull, I think the 182 vs. 187 makes a lot of sense. Compared to the way most brands measure, it's really kind of like 179 / 184 / 189 / 194 .......

The problem with lighter boots is they aren't going to do as good of a job driving those heavy ass skis you just hauled uphill, so not sure that compromise makes a lot of sense because it defeats the...

BG's in 184 are 2.38 kg's.... so likely the touring layup would only take that down to 2000-2100 ish. Which isn't bad, but still on the heavy side for touring IMO.

I'm wondering how much weight could be saved on a touring version of BG's by using a semi cap construction, plus the touring layup. Luke at Moment suggested the semi cap has definitely knocked a lot...

I was not a fan of the Kartel 108 but I have a pair of the current Atris that I like. So I'm guessing the Kartel demands even more of a centered stance than the Atris, since I tend to be a tip...

I've owned 8 different pairs of ON3P's over the years and I've only had to do a single base repair. And that was after dry-docking a 10 foot drop onto granite covered by a few inches of snow. Still...

This. I think some of the confusion is people talking about older versions of the Wren that were very different on soft snow.

Wren 108 is decidedly more pow friendly than the 112's were. If I had those two skis I'd only take out the BG's if the overnight snowfall was more than 10 inches or so.

Disagree. You've got a double ski bag, bring the Wrens too. It's Tahoe inbounds - shit gets tracked even faster than the front range, especially on the steeper terrain you'll be after.

The Hero7 is way less bulky up on the helmet than older GoPros... you should try it.

Looks fun! But you've gotta embrace your inner-tele-tubbie and ditch that chest cam.

Metal usually means stiffer which means the tips will not plane in 3D snow as well, so adding a bit more rocker / taper can help offset that. My 2 cents.

The flex and profile of MVP’s seems very similar to the Atris. I just fondled some about 5 minutes ago.

I have the Atris and yes, exactly. Fills a different need than my Wrens despite both being 108.
