The worst thing about the delayed stream, is that they still have multiple minutes of “The Competition Broadcast Will Begin Shortly” - it happened days ago, just cut that shit out of the stream.

Doesn’t sound like an “ideal time for all time zones” to me. At least it’s better than 4 AM if you’re in Perth.

Seems like getting rid of the live feed is a big mistake. It’s just going to piss off the core fans, and unless they have some mega marketing blitz, I don’t see how a special edited replay 1+ days...

Pretty windy at Alpine but looks like the have Summit off wind hold. If you see someone with a bright orange freeride systems jacket and a funny accent say hello!

It’s happened to me too, it does look a bit disconcerting. Got at least 200 yds downhill on one ski before I tried to muscle it back in to place - couple of whacks and it was fine.

Had my first day out on Wildcats in a 184 at Squaw this Monday. What a day to get on new skis! Really intuitive and easy to ski in powder, and just like everyone says, can absolutely mob through...

Skiing was great today, but driving home not so much. Both 89 and 267 were (and probably still are) totally jammed. Took us over an hour and a half to get from Alpine to Truckee around 1pm.

I got stuck the wrong side of Alpine Meadows road avalanche mitigation :( it’s looking pretty busy, but the line of cars going to Squaw was as large as I’ve seen this season.

Sounds good! I was expecting crowds because of the snow, but in terms of the actual event there wasn’t a whole lot of info floating around online.

Anyone going to the backcountry demo even at Alpine this weekend? Is it a useful place to actually demo gear or does it turn into a total cluster?

What’s the feeling on 184 vs 190 wildcats? I have read the whole thread and don’t think I saw much. I’m 5’11 and 165lbs, so was thinking 184 would be fine.
