An update from an earlier post - I had no issues with the vipecs and the short nosed scarpa alien boot. I ended up going with a stiffer boot for my wider skis though.

You liking these better than "those work gloves"? I've tried other more expensive gloves, and they're more supple. Better fit, but don't know if they feel a few times $ more valuable.

I'm quite fond of the beal gullys for alpine route. Sport lead and single rope trad I'm liking anything in the 9.4-9.6 range, i don't think the thinner rope adversely affects lifespan.
