My thought as well. In that scenario at least both skiers are anchored (assuming rappel is backed up and ends knotted) if it slides, but that also requires the gear and knowledge to use it.

Making a lot of assumptions based on limited information but it doesn’t appear that they had a backup plan. A microtraxion, tibloc, cord, and/or a set of bail stoppers and biners doesn’t add much...

I can't imagine either would be good given both are typically windblown with rocky terrain underneath. I know the apron on DT isn't full enough yet. Ptarmigan, Lamb's, maybe other steep gashes...

This little storm delivered. Ran around MJ until noon. Frontside early was fun, cirque headwall worth the hike, and untracked lines right under Eagle Wind at 10:30. A couple mild laps off Berthoud...

I'll second the heavy cream cheese in RMNP. Dream chutes were damn good though and the weather was splitter today.

On and off up there during the day today. Those glades lookers left above trail ridge skied great.

What time was that taking place? I jumped on at 40/I70 around 6:30 and nothing. Roads were fine but traffic sucked as usual.

Berthoud was nice yesterday considering. Much warmer and better coverage than expected. Looked busy from the CDOT cam today.
