It's a bafang mid drive motor. I know I've read that those should be able to be programmed but not sure when it's part of the bike and not an add...

Has anyone who has ridden a mid drive and a hub drive bike, prefer the hub drive?

My wife just got a new mid drive e bike and it's nice and well spec'd but even on PAS 1 it seems to be helping...

If it's older it might work with a bafang mid drive. Pretty sure pano-dude converted his older bigfoot with that. Not sure if that is frame size dependant or not.

I've had mine for 2 seasons. It's fun but its so much fucking work with that heavy bike!

I've also upgraded my brakes, drive train, and added front suspension. Electrifying this bike is cheaper...

Motor kit with controller was under $700. Got a battery on amazon for about $500. Also needed some shims and spacers to fit my rear dropouts I got from a ebike specialty store... maybe another $100...
