This isn't wrong but as a counter point - I have a pretty low instep with medium arches. Very few boots work for my instep without shimming.
I'm bringing C132s with FR15s and Jeffrey 118s with CAST.
It'll probably rain the whole time
Not sure which shims you're thinking of but a 5mm toe shim on pivots would put you in a negative delta. I think it would feel pretty odd.
You risk pushing some of the cork around the achilles into your heel pocket (which would then push your foot forward in the boot) but I don't think you'll actually damage or cause excess wear...
I don't think you can go wrong either way. My Jeffs and BGTs are 186 and 187, the BGs look longer on my feet due to the mount point, but they feel quite similar in pivotability in soft snow.
If...
But it only saves you $5 CAD over the full upgrade kit (assuming you're reusing your existing risers)

Excellent, thank you!
What's your method for finding the longitudinal centerline? The further apart your measured centerline points are, the less chance there is to introduce some error.
I have a 2-3mm gap between the sole of my boot and the top of the freeride spacer with all of the extra spacers installed. Is this normal? is there something i can do about it?
Boots are Atomic...
Nice

+1 They slay the mush and deeper corn.
Still lots of snow above 1600m

Got some fresh snow and a lower freezing level the past few days. Put 8 laps in on the C132s at Whitewater. Possibly a bit overkill for 15-20cm of fresh but totally worth it!

First couple of laps on the C132 today, these things rip!
Adjectives that come to mind: schmeary, effortless, poppy, solid.
You have to pull the heel piece off but no extra holes are needed.
Pretty sure it's the opposite - bamboo/pawlonia core with the full fat edge and base.
Yep, as long as your boots are a close enough size to your friend's.
Put a little bit of waterproof wood glue in there and be careful to not strip the existing thread in the holes.
Very lame
They would need to have a very similar fit primarily around the ankle and instep to have a good fit in both boots without heating/adding/subtracting cork when switching boots.
After a couple days, I started feeling the heel on my larger foot with stock liners. Don't feel it with garas though.
If you play around with where you're applying pressure in a turn, you should be able to get them to pivot and release quite easily in soft snow. I find them to be a dream in tight trees.
First two days on the previous generation BG118 Tours in excellent snow and they rip! Felt surprisingly good in tracked out areas and soft groomers too.
You're the man, thanks Marshal!
Shipping discount doesn't apply for Canada, or did I do something wrong?
What does "cinched some tail length" mean? This all sounds less loose and more dialed for firmer snow to me, or do I have this wrong?
Any comparisons to the Jeff 110/108 as a softish snow dd?
I'm excited to try out 2.0, 1.0 worked very well for me but I'm a bit concerned about the long term support/parts availability for 1.0.
I have the 116 but totally agree. What a fantastic ski.
Mine has MIPS and Koroyd. Great helmet but it fits quite a bit different than the Code for example.
Fingers crossed the new pivot has the same mount pattern
I pulled the trigger and it let me check out at that price, too cheap to not give them a try.
Thanks for the heads up!
Hence the disclaimers. It's just a data point. I do ski hard, jump off stuff, and try to avoid tech bindings inbounds.
Personally, the Tectons weren't as solid or as reliable as Kingpins. I had a few pre releases on 10-20ft cliffs (may have been my fault for not cleaning the boot/binding thoroughly) and also ended up...
Also looking for a code if anyone would be so kind
I have hundreds of days on Caylors and about 30 on J116s (none on 118s), but I agree with Session here.
The Caylors have an ever so slight edge in pure floatation but the modern version is better...
If anyone was curious about bending brakes, I was able to bend the 120mm FR15 evo brakes to fit C132s quite easily using the old ski pole and vice method, with the brakes disassembled. Just like the...
High praise!
How does the power feel to you on snow compared to the Lupo?
I thought they carpet flexed a bit soft but that could've been the increased forward lean.
The low volume has me toying...
Sooo, Hellbent?
I tried a pair of XTs on and while the fit was impressive, they felt pretty soft on the carpet flex (vs my usual lupo T.I.)

Critique my POV bushguy
Unrelated to the thread, but how much difference in power do you notice between the GFT and Corsa in the same boot?
I'm not an authority on this whatsoever but how much difference compared to the other ski are we talking?
Personally, I'd ski them, switching the skis between feet, and find out how they feel.
If I remember correctly, the Steeples just had a thinner bamboo core with an extra layer of carbon, but still had the full fat edges and base. Stand to be corrected though.
FR14/15/16 is my plan. Would like to use brakes though, anyone know if the brakes are impossible to bend?
Thank you for the best reviews in the industry, hands down.
