In the PNW the el nino/la nina effect is not that big, statistically. Not sure what that means for Chile. I would still plan a trip down if I could!

I think if you want it to ski as well as the Zero G, be prepared for around the same weight. Just find something with a low friction walk mode.

The Fischer Transalp Tour is pretty close in ROM to the F1 GT that I recently started using. I'm not sure it's worse, but I do certainly feel the weight difference and forward lean difference...

I dunno, I think the Wayback 96 is fairly forgiving in the PNW for volcanoes etc. It is stiff enough to edge but also smearable and with the pintail it does ok in pow. The 98 is more of a "beginner"...

Presumably a skier will flex their boot more than 10 degrees, but the skialper test isn't getting you into the range. As you say, the forces are roughly comparable at 10 degrees, but we aren't seeing...

You've pinpointed exactly my issues with Backland Carbon: cuff pivots get sloppy FAST and liners pack out/fall apart at about the same rate. Maybe 10 long days/60k vert for me....
