Holy Diver was Dio. She even says by legendary singer Ronnie James Dio. Not Iron Maiden.
It was a very peaceful day. Can we get a TELUS to go offline too next Friday?
I get the dealer to rotate the tires on my company truck (F-150) every oil change. Letting the shop guys rotate them every couple months makes sticking less likely but all aluminum rims will stick to...
Kifaru are sweet packs. Will probably pick one up eventually but my mystery ranch metcalf has been my go to pack for years guiding in the NWT.
The first thing to look for is a F150 on the front quarter panel. If it’s there you’ve got F150 issues sooner or later.

Like this? Not sure how to post pics since I’m not a contributor of stoke.
That’s within my abilities. I am supposedly a wildlife biologist and deal with forest raptors. Downy and hairy woodpeckers are food for the birds that occupy a large proportion of my days in the...
As a long time low post lurker I find the collective interest in having an expert ornithologist at the ready a strange requirement for a ski message board. I spend too much time dealing with birds at...
Mt Cain is like fight club, the first rule is you don’t talk about it. Nothing to see here. Move along folks.
Yeah this seems like the best option. It’s been working for me for a few years so far.
I can’t stand feeling confined. These bags are amazing.

Just want to throw in my 2cents on this derail. If you can play dead when a grizzly bear is tearing mouthfuls of your flesh off your body and crushing your head in its mouth, you won’t have to play...
Right now my PNW 3 ski quiver is: 187 Hoji daily driver, 191 LibTech PowNAS for days when I feel like a change and 186 Renegade for big days when I feel younger and stronger than I really am.
Both. In the Pacific Northwest my house is on the beach and I am 35minute from the parking lot at the local ski hill. No surfing at the house but I can paddle board, kayak or fish in front of the...

I’ve been lucky enough to spend a fair amount of time in the Yukon and NorthWest Territories guiding. I’ve managed to see the northern lights lots in August and September, pretty much...
I run warm and have been wearing the Sitka core lightweight hoodie. The polygene doesn’t seem to get too funky and the built in face mask is a great feature. Comes in basic black for formal occasions...
Me. Seems like a waste of good hockey viewing time.
Trew has a sale on this weekend. 40% off with POWHOG code at checkout. Trewth bibs are sweet.
I just compared my old 2015 (blue and white mountain scene with yurt topsheet) 195 Hojis with this year’s 187 version with the falcon top sheet. The new ones seem to have more rocker. I’ve only got...
I’ve got a quiver of quivers so to speak. In plain terms too much stuff.
Way too many ball caps,
Jackets, hard shells, soft shells, puffy coats,
Boots, hunting boots, work boots, gum boots, etc...

Heroin chute on Mount Washington, Vancouver Island
It sure looks like cheap Helly Hansen Impertech rubber rain gear. Maybe it’s the cheaper Columbia version...
I wonder what kind of wax his tech uses. When I ski on rocks and dirt in the parking lot my skis get all grabby so it’s hard to keep the speed up...
Not that I care one way or the other but over all of the years I’ve spent guiding hunts in the Yukon and NWT the only time I’ve ever had a grizzly tear up a tent it was full of woman smell. I dunno...
I used a nallo 2gt quite a bit last summer and I found it to be a good one person tent. Not sure how keen I would be on the regular version without the big gt vestibule tho.
Looks pretty much like your standard western hemlock regen stand from coastal BC. As somebody pointed out earlier high stocking density tends to create stands like that.
Greg’s an unreal pilot. He can do things with that R-44 that are tough to believe.
If it floats, flys or fucks. Renting is preferable to owning.
Forecast looking good. Partial opening at Washington this weekend.
That's a tough act to follow. Well done
You must be a lawyer the way you took one part of a sentence out of context and tried to make it suit your self serving opinion.
As someone that guides hunting not skiing I would say it depends on many factors. Most of the time your guide is doing what they do for the love of it and receives modest wages at best so tips are...

These things are what I was talking about
I have a couple of saws Stihl ms180 and ms390. The little one is light and handy for brushing, limping and cutting up windfalls etc. If you are cutting a lot the bigger saw with the longer bar is...
Last time I checked you can do pretty much unlimited mounts on a horse without having to worry about them breaking in half if you ride them hard. But maybe cross post to tech talk if you are worried...
I'm sure some of the AK mags can back me up on how dall sheep are prime eating.
41 1/2" x 381/2. 11 years old. Probably low 160's. I am not that into scores. Dream ram for me.
Of course! Dall sheep are great eating

I got the chance to take this fall sheep for myself at the end of my guiding season in the NWT.
I second this. Plastic stocks suck. I would do this at minimum but personally would upgrade to a McMillan or something similar that is a step above Bell & Carlson. In my experience high quality...
For 90% inbounds with occasional side country trips I would say look into getting some CAST touring plates. You ski your regular alpine clamps on the downhill and swap out the toes for dynafit for...
I know some of you guys like the whole "free heel" thing but those heels aren't even attached to the boot. Isn't that taking the whole "free the heel, free the mind" thing a little too serious!?
I like that glass insulators thing. I've got a few of them lying around. Might have to copy that idea.
Can't wait to see the controller! Kevin has the coolest job on earth! Well... other than the heli crashing part. That sounds crazy!
I usually feel like I end up back seat when I get tired or just lazy but the pow NAS seem to have cured me of that. They kick me back into a more aggressive position whenever I get lazy. I feel like...
