Yeah, that seems like the most likely reason. Agreed that it looks like a long lens. Though if that was the case, wouldn’t they have moved the lens to film the entirety of the slide? Maybe they set...
Agreed, no question about that.

Looks like Peak 1's NE face slid pretty big yesterday. It isn't at all surprising that slope slid, that it was a remote trigger, or that it went large (!). But what is surprising (at least to me) is...
I disagree that my thoughts were inappropriate or aimed at anything other than learning (to the extent Foggy was responding to me). But I've deleted my comment.
Again, my condolences to all...
Right on. Thanks!

Local buddy is signed up for power of two but his teammate just hurt his knee. My friend asked me to join the fun as a sub, only problem is that I split board. Anybody know if that will cause issues...
Every now and then this thread delivers, even if half the beta is bad (not your half, of course…the other guy’s).
The prospector loop is good idea. Thanks!
Glad it’s snowing again!

Hoping to harvest the hive mind:
My mid-60s parents (from sea level) and I (Denver bro) are headed to Breckenridge this weekend. We don’t plan to sample the WROD, but I would like to get them...
Buddy of mine is looking to purchase an entry level ski touring setup--nothing top of the line, just looking for something to get him out and learning. He is 6 foot, 180lbs.
Whatcha got?
Cheers!
Front range bro here (no Sprinter, unfortunately).
Wolf Creek was stellar all weekend, but this morning was the highlight. Skied all over the mountain yesterday and stuck with Alberta all day...

Everything is sold. Thanks all.
Sale pending on split, bindings, and skins. Avy kit still available. Make me an offer...
Hoping to sell a backcountry splitboard setup and avy kit. Everything (except the skins) is in good to great condition. Skins will need some work. Paypal or Venmo works. I would like to arrange for...
Awesome thanks. I'll be up tomorrow.
Word on stability?
A Basin was a ton of fun today! Tomorrow should still be good.
Anybody have any inside word on when zuma is going to open? Tomorrow? Wednesday?
A-Basin was great today, snow is soft and chalky all over and the wind was loading up/buffing out the spine and...

Skiing was terrible at hidden valley today. Wind wind wind.
Awesome, thanks. Planning to be below treeline tomorrow. Hope its still good!
Any recent reports from the Park? Interested in thoughts on quality and stability.
Cheers.
WP was awesome today. Got lucky with two laps through Hole in the wall during an hour of directed skiing. Snow was soft everywhere else. It was cold.
On another note, anybody need a touring...
Hahah. Thanks, Foggy.
Any other reports on snowpack/stability from Berthoud? This field report makes it look a bit spicy: http://avalanche.state.co.us/caic/obs/obs_report.php?obs_id=36389. I haven't made it out yet this...
Yeah i would have gone to a basin and I was worried about Loveland getting closed and being forced to deal with the mess at the tunnel. Being able to completely avoid the tunnel is a major plus for...
How much is tomorrow afternoon's drive back to the front range going to suck?
I read through the report and I still don't really understand what the patrollers were doing out there. Were they just skiing or was it recon work related to the resort? I'm not aware of a wolf creek...
A basin was all time today. East wall was in prime, untouched condition. Sick lines all over the place. Should still be good tomorrow if you hike, below the traverse was pretty well tracked.
Edit...
sweet thanks.
Yeah I'm not surprised those lines are a permanent closure. I'm also not surprised they have been skied. Does booger ramp or booger snot ever open?
Yeah, the tree chutes and the more standard lines on the east wall have already all opened a few times this year. I guess I'm more curious about what other, more obscure lines have the chance of...
Alan Hencecroth, COO of A Basin posted this sweet photo map of the east wall with a ton of lines labeled: 152392

Yeah that detail wasn't there last night, thanks. Sad news.
I switched the quality from 720 to 380 and that seems to have helped. Still daily motion though.
CAIC just posted a preliminary report of a fatal slide near conejos peak. Prelim report says, "Primary Activity: Others at Work" anybody know what that means?
...
A basin was sick yesterday. It looks like the next couple of snow events will be on the warm side again.
Friends of CAIC just posted a longer vid with some background. Looks like fun!!!

Hows stability looking in RMNP these days?
Spencer Logan's forecast discussion for the front range was pretty scary this morning.
Plan was to crash on a buddy's couch with the plan of skiing BC. Drive tonight = sleep tomorrow morning (speaking relatively).
Might turn out to be an A-basin day after all.
Jealous of all who got out today. Trying to head to vail tonight but I just noticed that CDOT is saying WB I-70 is closed at Empire for "police activity" anybody have any more info on this?
Edit:...
I am a CC alum, class of 2012. There is some truth to the posts above but a lot of exaggeration too. I loved it.
Academics: I thought the actual school part of CC was pretty awesome. The block...

Thanks for the TAR links. In terms of interest, the hook is set. I can't get enough of this kind of material.
However, im not sure that will translate into $$$ quite yet. Probably in a few years...
I suppose I should start by saying this: I am young (22) and inexperienced (2nd year in the BC). I have been thinking about this incident a lot especially because if I was with this group I'm not...
