Just me and the coyotes today. Little dustings here and there are making it bearable, but we need a big storm to fill everything in.

It is indeed Edelweiss (Shotgun). We had a decent start (the Christmas storm was fun), but the recent thaw has set us back. Base is holding strong though, so if we can just get more snow, we should...
Making the best of it post-thaw. Sounds like eastern Quebec is doing better.

Still fun in western Quebec.
It’s skiing better now. God Jul you filthy-animals.
Night storm skiing is fun.

Good coverage for this time of year at Edelweiss, but we need a reset. Went looking for the crusty layer, and found it.

Last weekends tracks, far left.

The harrowing drive home from Montreal last night hinted at the possibility of something good today, but awoke to above freezing temperatures this morning. Lots of cooked snow.
Yah, I will be opening up the season this Sunday at Edelweiss. They are reporting 42 cm in the last 48 hr. Not sure I believe that, but I guess we'll find out.
Tabarnak câlice!
We have East Coast and Ontario threads, so why not one for the belle province.
Weather is finally starting to turn, so let's hope for a good one...
Another fuckin' cultist thread.
Just put them into one, so all of Tech Talk isn't one giant HL circle-jerk.
How many HL threads does this make? Like six...
Can't you cultists amalgamate them into one, like has been done for every other brand?
Yah, no. I only have experience with the WD96, which I really like and think is a great east coast ski. Nevertheless, they do start to drag in deeper snow where I lose the bottom, which is why I went...
I finally got about 60 minutes on the 108 last weekend (186, black ones below). The conditions were firm, but the skis felt really dialed in in-terms of the specifications working together. The...
Saturday is looking like the day.
A TGR thread on ski lessons!? I never thought I would see the day.
Ski, have fun, be yourself. There is no "right" way...
Care to elaborate? I’m eyeing a custom order, but not sure if I should place my order now or wait until they update the website for 2024.
All told, I bet we got 25-30cm in the NCR.
I shovelled a solid 15cm off my driveway at 7:00am, and it was snowing good until around 2pm.
Best day of the year - so far - in the NCR. Better late...
Sneaker storm dropped a solid 10cm in the NCR overnight / early morning.
Tack Ullr!
The storm petered out in the NCR. I would say 5-6 cm overnight. We are supposed to get some more during the day, so night skiing should be fun.

The Canadian Prime Minister's brother, Michel, was swept into a lake by an avalanche. From Wiki:
"[Michel] was taking a backcountry skiing trip with some friends in Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park...
I ski at Edelweiss. Give me a shout if you ever need anyone to show you around.
With any luck, we may get to see the ever elusive madpatski.

I have a pair and like them, although I'm a 30 day-a-year eastern-Canada lift-served skier, so really can't say much else.
I did have a broken collarbone that can attest to the soft, progressive...

Well, today was fun. I think we got most of our snow between 9-11 AM. Easily 10cm an hour.
Off-piste was way better than I thought it was going to be, although we still need one more good storm to...
Should be an interesting day tomorrow in Quebario...

Winter in Eastern Canada doesn't start until the second week of January.
I'm close, but not close enough. Maybe try here: 2021-Ontario-Stoke-What-we-lack-in-length-we-make-up-with-girth!

Sure... the Coq is a well designed and they work hard to maintain it, but bad weather is bad weather, and it sucks to be in bad weather on the Coq.

I've said this before and I'll say it again; I'm not sure if you have read Fight Club, but it is one of the 'gayest' books of the last 25 years. Literally...

The level of "pro-skier" elitism is high in this one.
Individual actions give legitimacy to systemic movements.

Good riddance...
Brand awareness
Sorry, but until you can explain why your materials are more "sustainable", this is just greenwashing.
The chalk at Volcan Osorno was skiing great today.

Well put...
What irks me, is the hypocrisy of using "environmentalism" to sell products. Just go back to Mike Douglas's IG post mentioned earlier. Of course he couldn't post that without tagging...
Antillanca and Osorno are requiring people to chain-up. This is problematic in terms of rental cars (as they generally frown against such things), but I should be able to get something that is...
