100% agree with you. The write up and especially the pictures of terrain and snowpack made me shake my head.
If you are going to roll the dice with a propagating PWL in the mid pack (surface hoar) that could potentially step down to a depth hoar PWL then your terrain choice needs to be carefully considered....
