I'm in Reno NV, with plenty of loose over hard rocks, some sand, no mud, occasional real dirt. My pick of those would be the Aggressor.

I have had poor experiences with Schwalbe.

I ordered two Dissectors from the sale - both matched the website description (Exo).

My DT wheelset, however... I happened to run into the FedEx driver at delivery time, and the end of the freehub...

I like the Aggressor for a rear tire, around Reno /Tahoe conditions. Rolls fast, wears well, brakes acceptably, easily controllable when it slides.

My Dissector experience has been just as a rear...

Tire width and rim width makes a big difference in what pressure works for me. Also on whether it's a hardtail or full suspension bike.

On a FS with i30 rims and 2.3" tires, I'll use 20 F / 25-26...

I don't have any issues with Exo tires either. I only have a couple Exo + because they came with the bike -- didn't seek them out. I'm at about 190#.

I had that tire - came stock on the rear of a Kona Explosif. OK when new, similar traction to a semi slick. Little knobs wore fast, quickly went to poor traction. I wouldn't buy it again. Aggressor...

IIRC the Minion SS comes in a DD or DH casing, in WT, and in DC compound. That is a ridiculous amount of abbreviations.

I used the same tires on my commuter, when I commuted... I like them too. Inexpensive, long tread life, good puncture resistance, acceptable ride quality.

You might be thinking of the original DHR, vs the DHR II. I hated the original DHR and didn't understand why anyone would want to use Minions because of how shitty the bike rode with a DHF/DHR combo.

Level Nine has Vittoria Goma for $30, 27 and 29. Discontinued now. I like that tire as a rear tire.
