Well the way it's worked out for me is the positives of the belt outweigh any negatives of the belt, if you're talking about a single speed or an internal geared hub.

I will run a stan's raven or crow, so not a worry...
I will run a stan's raven or crow, so not a worry for my terrain. The Chainstay issue is a good point. Most of the frames I've researched, Spot Honey Badger for example, have +/-17.5 chainstays....

I'm buying a new 29er SS and the guy building it suggested a belt drive. I missed the boat on that, but after some research, it seems like the way to go....
