Use the coldest (hardest) wax you have. I apply wax on the kicker only in one direction so it doesn't clog up the scales. You could also try paraffin from a candle in a pinch

There was a movie, home made but released on VHS via Pow Magazine - Ski Bumin 96 - 97. I bought that tape and a couple years later the wife and I spent the winters of 98 and 99 renting a house on...
And another....only ask is for you to stay well, and focus on the things that make you happy once this cloud starts to lift. Sadly, we all say goodbye to friends along the way.
Hope you find some...
I always keep a pair of these in my pack. I usually wear polarized sunglasses but if the light fails and it's snowing hard, these are nice to have. 15 bucks, w no fog. They will fog in some...

I lucked out and was about the #30? civilian Into the bowl. Mid thigh in spots on my old Coomba's. Didn't cross a track in the bowl that first lap. Did 3 more. It gusted up past 40 along with a...
That Sublette vid is fantastic! Never saw how they splice cable before - very cool. Thx for the share
I've been using some fleece lined pants sold on AZ that are great. Stretch poly facing that sheds snow and wind with fleece lining. There's a bunch of them. What's nice is they aren't too snug and...

Thanks for the great write up!
Another vote for Matt. Only 15 years for me but he gets problems sorted out fast. I keep thinking I should probably get another pair of boots (on my 2nd pair of Freedoms with prolly 300+days) but...
That's awesome - If your grooming Cashe Creek, thank you! Try to ride ride there once or twice a week.
Not sure why but tried to edit and they deleted instead?
Recovered 1, lost the other and too lazy and hungry to retype.
Anyway thanks for the feedback, always looking for low angle meadowy...

Heart Wood core, C thru base
Stomping around up at Coulter Bay
These are worth taking a look at If you ski pow, untracked and naturally set tracks. They are the shit. If these don't put a smile on your face, nothing will
They ski fantastic both up and...
That's ridiculous. When the cigarette execs all publicly denied a link between smoking and cancer, that was what we should expect? These guys have known for decades. They are all criminals, worse...
Some of us have been wondering (angry, pissed, astounded) for more than 2 decades. We should all have been rowing the same direction on this a long time ago. And yet just last week - "drill drill...
I'll usually have a Pro Bar or 2 in my pack and a thermos of tea. They are high in carbs so usually only eat half at a sitting. One thing to know is - fat has almost twice the calories of carbs and...
UAN - Fantastic!! Really great shots
Bah! I gave up yelling a while ago. I text them now
Years (and years) ago on the Killington access Rd at Casey's Caboose they had free chicken wings and cheap beer and a 2 buck , hangover inducing Goombay Smash (rum 80 and 150 proof) every weekend for...
Lol! For sure. It's weird how the cams shuffle around, on and off.
I usually look at The Science Center Cam and the one at Buffalo Valley for a wide angle view of the Tetons. What is REALLY...
Great your wife's back on it. Been there a couple times, not fun. Not surprised to hear about the wind loading. It was gusting near 60 for a while the night before. Chiming in to share this link....
Lol, I lost my spare ski tip a long time ago! Along with 3 pin boots. I do miss the s smell of pine tar though. Last decade I've been stomping around on Fisher SB 112s . To the point I needed...

Keep thinking I should put them up on the house. I got them used. They were rentals. Have had them for 50 years (man thats painful to think about)
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing!!
We had a similar glide path, lived or skied at almost all the same areas. But You did in a few months what took us about 15 years. In JH now - Le tits now!
If your near south eastern BC, Nancy Green Summit is fantastic low angle touring. They have a network of small day use cabins with wood fireplaces scattered all over. Amazing place.
And! Red...
How is anyone speed flying off the King with the miniscule amount of snow we have? At 50mph, your at the bottom in like 15 seconds going pretty fast.
Hope he has a good and speedy recovery
Not if AccuWeather has anything to say about it. Those shite heads have been trying to make NOAA forecasts privileged, paid service for years - to drive all traffic to their sites.
With AI...
That last pic is of my first MTN bike! The Nishiki Alien.
I stuck a 2.2 inch Red WTB tire up front . Which was huge for the time..... Suspension forks for the masses were a year or 2 in the future
If you apply the wax only going with the scales it keeps most of the wax out of the scale edges.
Works for paste, liquid and hard wax. Only Buff in the same direction too. Works pretty good
I'm riding both, I'm older too. Mid 60s - Grew up in the days of Gary Fisher when the advent of 2.1 rubber was a major suspension upgrade :-}
They both have their place and advantages as already...
It shouldn't be this hard.... Life's too short already
I use the same pack for hiking and riding. A 20L Synchro that has a mesh back panel. Can't ride on or off road without a hydration pack .... Platypus is the only one I found that keeps water tasting...
One of us always has a can of bear spray, all year round. Never can tell when you'll run into something unexpected. Wolf, moose, bears and cats all a concern around here. 2 weeks ago I was out...
Say what? I've posted pics on numerous forums but I can't figure this one out.
I hit the plus on REPLY TO THREAD.... But it looks exactly like the reply curved arrow. I don't see anyway to attach...
Wind is the best mask money can buy
The mounting template for the NNN BC binding puts the Toe Bar just behind the balance point of the ski. Which for a XC ski works to let the tip of the ski pivot down when you lift your foot. Making...
That's what I mounted up today! Pair of Sbound 112s , 169cm for the wife.
Great ski
I just mounted a pair of wide BC XC skis with Rotefella BC bindings. Used the balance point per the binding instructions. Here's a good article about the choices:

We Kited Spray Lakes about 10 years ago. That place is etched into my brain. One of the most scenic places I've ever been
Not environmentally friendly but silicone spray works. Don't need much. Spread it on with some plastic film or a trashed plastic bag
After a couple million doses are given and a couple months pass, to allow for adverse effects to surface - hopefully not - my wife and I will be over joyed to get vaccinated. I don't know what...
That's Dan, not John
I had the pleasure of skiing with both of them in their XTeam clinics years ago.
John defied gravity, you'd have to see it to understand
Last year at 60 plus I had a few runs under Thunder with people hooting and hollering for me ripping a line under the chair. If your lucky, 60 will be your reality before you know it.....

Bah! Funny!
I'll second that 25 dollar lever. Smooth as buttah. I replaced one of those cheapo rocker style levers. Huge difference
Very sad to hear about this. Back in the 80s I ran into Captain Pow where we didn't get much. On line at Killington VT. He was dressed in a gray suit with a crazy hat with a gigantic brim and a...
