I’m thinking the same direction as the rail. Basically as if the bike was mounted directly on the car’s rail, without the need for perpendicularly mounted bars.

So I saw someone with a bike rack directly mounted on the car's rails, or whatever you call them... those factory rails that are parallel to the car's doors.
I wish I could do that, but obviously...

Get a Burton AK, cyclic or the 3L, unless you're a skier, then you would look way too cool.

Yeah they are more of the “all around” type. Weight is not so bad though, and walk mode helps.

Thanks to everyone. Ended up ordering Voilés. I think better bang/buck. Karas were more than $100 more expensive, for Connects which I think are slightly inferior to Prime SL and such.

Union Expedition are not an option for me, they're almost 2x the price ($549 CAD) I'm getting for either Voile or Kara so will go with either.
