Saw one visible hot spot today on way to work. Had 2 helicopters working yesterday until dark. Winds are probably not the best today and hope nothing gets back cranking. Pretty solid fire lines...

Fire looked even better today. Saw 2 spot fires with helicopters on top. Winds less then 5mph. They are worried about res flag and front tomorrow. Extended evacuations.

Pretty positive outlook...

Still hunkered down here in lower Summit. Sharif was not as happy today but let me stay. From what I could see/hear less air support today, or it moved areas. They were flying over all day yesterday....

I live throwing distance from highway down low. I was out all day yesterday talking to EMS, Sharif was in my garage for a bit. They seemed fine with me still here. My neighbors are also still here....

Lower summit park owner. Still here. Didn’t evac. I’m super low in development. Crazy day. No homes burned. Fire still below ridge. Amazing air a s ground support all day. Hope it stays mellow...

Last years “skier visits” were down (Covid - can’t go by that). One of the last things I read showed in general skier visits were flat for past 10 years or so. Slight ups and downs.

Brighton just past opening bell with my wife. Over an hour to get up BCC with heavy snow. Not a single cop checking chains, 4x4 or tires. Counted 3 idiots stuck which was the cause of all delays....

Seriously - I went 215 past the 6200 exit and was grumpy. Still am sitting in my office as friends in town are up. Meet up for leftovers tomorrow.

Did the weekend warrior inbounds ski thing this weekend with brother in law. Brighton Saturday skied great and Bird Sunday was fantastic.

I’m over an hour and still stopped in BCC as of 2:00pm. Got up to Solli for first chair and skied till 12:30. Nuked all day. Still nuking. But holy fuck this traffic. I passed a VW bug this morning....

Gonna Ikon it to Sollitude tomorrow first thing. Try to beat the crowd. This weekend warrior ski thing is new to me. But I’ll make the best of it.

Went to Brighton instead. Got there for opening and did about 2 hours. Great snow and great coverage. No trafffic when I went up canyon at 7:30ish. Left at like 11:00/11:30 and complete shit show....

High elevation N/NW/NE facing still had good snow today. Shady aspects alright as well. Getting to the good snow, sometimes scary.

Elk is probably my favorite mountain in PA and one of the nicest mountains I have been to (which is saying a lot).
