You can also trigger the 430 off camera with your 550 mounted on the camera. 550 is in master, and you can tell it to not flash, just trigger the 430.

I've got a set. Max shutter speed is around 1/160 I think. They don't fire 100% of the time. Probably 95+%. For me that's ok for what they cost. Just getting the flashes off camera is a huge bonus....
