Tuesday I skied relay peak, one North aspect and two East ones.
Good snow first two turns off the ridge were icy, but great afterwards.

The East facing relay face was wet, but skied really well...

Not clear answer though.
If there was a faceted layer above the crust, most likely that went with the slide, plus being on the surface it probably transformed.
However, there is probably faceted...

Yeah, it was cold. I was on relay, wanted to ski bronco chutes, but the wind on the ridge almost knocked me down so I bailed.

Often, the avie conditions are there worse on the apron, which is less steep than the couloir.

The fresh snow in a steep couloir sloughs off during a storm, and often results in cleaner, less avie...

On Wednesday, I went poking around round top, hoping to ski crescent couloir.
The avie report showed that the facets are healing.
