Pretty sure I saw you riding down while I was hiking up. Looked like fun, was great weather on the hill.
Reminds me of a powder day during ridge-a-thon, heard someone on the hike up state to their buddy that it would be more of scene than the FWT. Ended up watching him tumble halfway down Stauffenberg.
Saw some abhorrent behavior from Breckenridge employees today. The mountain is absolutely over-run by tourists though so I can understand how they feel they can behave that way. The poor employees...
Hesitated to share this, but one less tourist in the future?

Thanks for the input, glad to see I'm not the only one worried they're gatekeeping what used to be my go to at that mountain. I'll be at Breckenridge tomorrow for leftovers, ski ya at the t-bar.
Anyone know why Steamboat hasn't opened the new double blacks runs off the Mahogany Ridge terrain yet? Curious to see how it will ski now that terrain is in-bounds.
Gary Johnson is a chiller
There is also absolutely *no* mountain biking there.
Honestly I think it might be higher. There's a big FR crowd that goes for the *vibes* of skiing and this weekend's kerfuffle might have soured that.
Skiing is certainly still the product at Winter Park, although mid week at Highlands versus mid week at Winter Park Highlands is going to win that most days. Winter Park is going to be a different...
I'll ruin it for you, anyone interested in where this is should go to 'River North' in Denver and then drive two hours east and you should find it.
Jealous. I'm swamped with work but my goal is to get out there at least once a winter. Probably trying for this afternoon for a quick lap or two.
Groomers were cruising as always. Glad to get out with ya!
Gonna be at Copper tomorrow if anyone wants to ski some laps.
Speaking of buses, I am staying off roaring fork drive just east of downtown. How reliable is that mountain valley line, can I prepay or do I need cash, and is it worth it to take to snowmass or...

Brutal. Don't get addicted to pain meds. I'll pour one out and dedicate my next powder run to you.
The people want to know, what run was it on?
Not to start any rumors. But there is this. https://twitter.com/asp321/status/1476706677638402058?s=20
Looking good for a lot of places already with a lot more snow to come still during the day. Might hoof it to Loveland here in a bit.
Good luck and godspeed. Can Steamboat beat its attendance record again between Christmas and New Years? Maybe the colder part of the storm will keep people inside. Curious for your updates on how the...
This is tempting. Anyone want to split a room Saturday?
Yea I checked, looks like $290 a night at basalt mountain inn this weekend.
Looks good. Am tempted to go to Aspen this weekend but lodging is just so expensive.
$10 of which goes to Mountain Rescue Aspen.
I could be mistaken, but my understanding is the course is on Moran Face.
Ya you're right. I am only going for some social skiing... but all the way up at Vail. Mentally preparing myself for the worst.
See you Saturday on I-70. Think leaving at 6 am will be early enough?
Unfortunately Patagonia also makes ridiculously long sleeves across all of their products.
The biking has been exceptional lately.
The cool cats these days are just posting their ski days on Strava.
Cool aiming for watching the Men's Snowboard Superpipe then. Its really just a novelty seeing as its a surprise that I happen to be there during the games.
Figured. Was planning on doing 3 days, one day at each except for Buttermilk. Isn't the bus the only way to get to the x games venue? Is it worth it to even go if the buses are a cluster?
Just realized my three days in Aspen overlap with the X Games. How busy is it during the games and what can I expect? Staying on the east side of Aspen.
+1 on this, wondering if I would really have to pay as a solo passenger for afternoon shift.
When is Breck expanding to Peak 1 with a gondola from Frisco?
Can I get to shadows and closets quicker in the morning? Sounds like a good thing to me. What about a tow rope from the top of storm king up to mt. werner?
The new gondola is something to get excited about. Two gondolas bringing people out of the base area in the morning? And one that is just a straight shot to the summit? Sounds great to me.
Reserved for 3/14-3/18. Thanks for the update y'all!
Mans on the Ikon pass, so presumably gonna have to be stratton.
He's visiting me out west mid January, he's an beginner/intermediate so any time on the snow before that will help.
Yea you won't find me there then. I warned him it will likely be crowded.
Hi all. Posting on behalf of a buddy of mine.
Anyone know the best (and cheapest) ways to stay in Stratton or Sunday River? Sunday River pre Christmas, and then Stratton around Christmas.
I will be riding the 8th through the 11th. Thank you for the suggestion on the hotel The SnowShow! I owe funkendrenchman a beer or six.
I'm getting mixed messages here.
Doing some late planning for ski days around the beginning of April, anyone have the inside scoop on the cheapest hotels / lift tickets?
Cheers mate enjoy it for me. I have roommates in my 60s so I am keeping it safe and low key, still on snow just not at resorts.
Between covid, reservations and the low snow I finally gave up on the season and deferred my Ikon pass. Here's hoping for better snow next year.
This is a skiing thread. Who the fuck gives a shit about roll covid?? https://twitter.com/james_benedetto/status/1348860386930552833?s=19
