Cast got back to me. Answer for posterity is that it can be done. The p12 baseplate does have to be trimmed because it’s longer than the p18 baseplate. At some point they had a template they included...
Yeah, I should have said I had already tried that. No response.
I've got a set old SI&I system for a Pivot 18 lying around and I'm thinking of using it with some Pivot 12's for my wife or kid (both below the P18 DIN).
Couldn't find it in here, but I vaguely...
Oh thanks. Haven’t had that issue so it must have recently come off. Sounds like I’ll need to slap some tape on there
Curious about this horseshoe/gusset thing. I’m missing the one on my right boot. Looks like it just tore away from the rivet. Either that or my boot fitter ripped it out when he did some shell work...
Have had a bunch of lines in the water, but still no luck finding my white whale, the AX 115 cuffs. A little anniversary bump to see if anyone might be holding.
At this point would also take an...
It's not a new concept around here. Some links to pics in other threads:
@kevinrohrbach using a wedge from Full Tilt: ...
Other than being stronger than the original Lupo lever, does this CC-made version do anything besides increasing forward lean. If so, wouldn't it be just as easy to accomplish that with a 2mm shim...
Cast site now says “site under maintenance” and all old content removed. Seems like they’re gearing up to re-launch.
Outstanding
This one looks to slide over a puck of some sort. For my old SI&I the binding slides into a plate. Icing of the plate is an issue. Guessing icing isn’t as big a prob with the puck.
Too bad if...
Where are these spy shots referenced above? If there’s something more than the profile pics here and on the Cast website, can you give us some crumbs?
Oh, and I'm still hunting for an AX115. Stuck's SP's are a little different.
Thanks Stuck. Just pm'd.
Crummy conditions make me start thinking about tinkering with gear again while waiting for the next storm. So bump. Someone has these collecting dust by now.
I can offer an older but hardly ever...
I would guess ax 115 has a little better ROM than the original greenish TI but can’t say for sure. It’s the full wrap style like you find on the krypton’s so probably not as good as the newer style...
Preseason bump in case you’re about to toss your yellow-cuffed AX 115’s
He’s alive!
Check your pm’s kid.
Apologies to Mr. Gray. Unfortunate choice of words.
I haven’t had any response either. Guess he’s buried in Gray’s Anatomy.
PM’d on the micro puff
Stealurface, I sent you a PM about these. If you still have them, let's talk.
Bandit, just sent you a PM.
What's that you say? You just cracked the shell of your AX 115's and now you need to get rid of them to make space in the gear closet? I'm here to help.
Try Berg’s. I got a set there last week (although I don’t have them yet). https://www.bergsskishop.com
Bandit and JC, I’ll PM
Sounds like 3 options up for OP. I’ll get in line after OP.
Bandit if OP has what he needs and you’re up for shipping, I’d grab those trekkers
So much good info in this thread. I'm thinking of doing something similar, but using the cuff from an AX 115 instead of a Krypton. Has anyone tried that? The goal for me is to try to recreate the...
Nice thanks. I’m coming from a krypton too.
It works as in it fits, but the SP had the old walk mode. I had the SP and found the walk mode almost useless. The ID wrap liner might have had something to do with that but im still trying to avoid...
Sadly Wakefield has the AX 120 which does not have the full wrap cuff. Bumping for the hoarders buried under a pile of used up AX 115's.
Here's a pic with the various Lupos from that time. You...
Wow this place is great. Wake and PlayItLeo I’ll message you. Irip thanks too.
Planning to do some Frankenbooting with a Lupo, and I'm looking for a donor boot or parts. Hoping someone has the goods in their junk pile. Payment in beer or maybe a trade of the "my old stuff for...
Also interested in just the Cast kit if abx doesn’t take them. Do have a price for kit alone?
Welp, another day holding the wond. Story of the winter so far.
Expect it'll be a tit nippy.

Paging ZZ Top for PTT.
Not sure what POD is. Unless it’s what you do when you don’t reach the lady’s tee. In which case . . . Yup.
Don’t really know any of you guys but I’m happy for Do Work and the rest of the Magic crew. Deserved. Here at Bush North maybe a foot up top. Pretty damn nice day. Not quite enough to bury the...
Thanks Silas. The dimple was covered earlier, too. My bad.
jdatour and tjbs thanks for the pics. Answered a lot of the questions I was having trying to figure out how the shoulder bolts mounted to the ski.
Maybe there aren't enough of people out here who...
Wow that’s long when you view it in the phone. Short story: can Look make the P18/FKS180 GripWalk compatible simply by producing a new GW AFD piece to swap in for the standard alpine AFD?
So now that Look is on board with GripWalk, what will it take for them to make P18's compatible with GW soles? Even if GW boots "fit" in current model P18's with the standard AFD (not the WTR AFD...
Been 10 yrs now, but I found this book very useful if you haven’t seen it yet: https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Kauai-Guidebook-revealed/dp/0983888760
Ouch! Hope you can still grip your pole.
Deeper descent into madness: being charged by your father's ghost to kill your uncle or no snow on Jan. 31st.? That is the question. Hint: The last few pages of this thread might hold the answer.
If you float, factor in the extra cost for a good underlayment. Helps with the clickiness. I’ve floated the same flooring (prefinished engineered wood, not laminate) using both low end and high end...
That's awesome. Strong Dad stoke (and Grampa stoke) on this page.
I was actually thinking about grinding off the top of the insert, not the closed bottom. This would grind off the little flathead screwdriver slots that can be used for installing the inserts, but I...
