Where do you get from any of my post that I think the ski was built wrong.
When I said detune, I meant I rubbed a Diamond stone across it. Gummi would not really do it. But never said the ski was... -

So if you noticed you found the tips of a ski to hook up before you wanted them to, you would do nothing? Sounds like you suck at maximizing your gear. Fuck dude. I took a Diamond to the tip of the...

A while back, after a few days on the Wren 98, I said it was not so great in the bumps and the tip kept hooking up. A little detuning and several more days on snow and I want to retract my previous...

Damn that is rough.
Fwiw my OG wrens delamed like that (but way less) in the tip from skiing into a rock. I used JD weld and clamps on them like 5 years ago and it has held. I only use them early... -

I thank you for your comments. I thought the 98s were a ton of fun except in deep, tight hard bumps where they kicked my ass. I might learn how to handle them in those places, but will likely just...

That sounds about right for my 98s.
I rarely get my Bods in firm bumps, but those, by Wren 113 and my Mantras and LPs are all less work in tight bumps. Or so it seems. Might need to do some back... -

I’m just comparing my 113 vs the 98, and the 98 feels like it has a few more beans. I’ve been skiing Wrens since the OG, what ever that year was. It was also my touring ski for like 4 years.
I’d... -

Wonder if I would be better suited for the 184. Seems like the tips would hook up on the bumps in front and want me to be driving hard.
For reference, Lower Grizzly was not fun. They worked in... -

I just picked up a new to me pair of 189 Wren98. I’m a long time Wren skier with an OG 191 pair and the 113 with a flatter tail version.
What I’ve noticed is the 98 require a lot more constant... -

This. My OG and 111 kill it in the cut up snow. It seems like this is what that ski is made for. I didn’t like it as much in fresh powder. But once it is cut up, they ski like butter.

I put a much bigger gash into my OG Wrens. FranklezZ hit it with a ptex gun and it has been good ever since. Still ride that pair. Patch it and keep on going.

+3
I’m about 175cm and prefer my fully cambered skis in the 185cm range. Add some tip rocker and I like them to be a bit longer for all mountain. My pow ski is 196 and my old school Wren 191. I... -

I believe the m-series poster is three forths of a cm forward and not 3 or 4 cm. While that is forward, I don’t think that makes him a Kartel skier. Sounds like it just happens to be where it is...

How much stiffer is the W96?
