We are coming from Montana, so passing through Invermere and not Calgary. Sadly, doesn't seem like costco is an option.
Headed to Banff in Mid-March to rip around with the fam. Looking to ski 2 days at SV. What's my cheapest option for tickets? SkiBig3 doesn't really seem like a deal if we are just at SV. SV...

Cloud Cult, What's up with Aaron Teasdale calling you out as a known pedophile that has fled the Missoula area? If that's true, I wouldn't show your name on these message boards.
I bet it's more of a COVID problem with staff then a wind problem. Get one positive test on patrol or lift staff...your done. Blame it in the wind.
Tomorrow should prove or deny my theory.
The shit is going to get shut down if it continues as it is. Bunch of people with shiny new gear that never fucking tour suddenly decide they are "backcounty" skiers because we got 8 inches of snow....
Leave your fucking dog at home.
I love this book...doesn't get much better for calling out the Mountain Tribe for all their weird ego bullshit.

Think of this every time you ride Lavelle or pay $600 for a pass.
Went for 10 days in early April in 2016. Rented a van/camper and toured around the Troll and West Fjords. Everything will be so condition dependent and agree with Skiar above...just drive around,...
1. Pretty sure they have never offered a one-ride...at least in the 25 years I've been there. Ronnie hates me, so that could be it. I think their thinking is they would have to check tickets at...
Anyone hear any news on how the load testing went for the Snowpark chair?
So funny that they are fullbore with a marketing campaign about a new lift that hasn't even passed a load test. Load testing is a big deal and surely not a done deal.
You're right. You have to subtract operating costs off gross revenue to get taxable income. That new juicer they got some years ago is a fucking money sink in maintenance costs....not to mention...
Snowbowl's Tax Evasion Plan. I guarantee you SB doesn't pay a dime of taxes on the huge bag of "cash only" passes. Kinda bullshit in my book. Let's say they sell 500 passes at the party for...
Interesting...not to sure what to think about it. I guess I'll say, good effort (?)
"As far as he knew, no one had skied it before." It has been skied many times...FYI.
For those that access Wisherd Ridge for skiing or sledding, FYI...

Please read up, respect private property...
No problem...if you were following sled tracks, you were spot on. Just wanted to post some of this stuff as the land ownership has changed up there, local private landowners have been bitchy in the...
The cadastral database hasn't been updated yet to reflect the change in ownership from Plum Creek to TNC. Plum Creek no longer owns anything in the Gold Creek area. Land management policies to TNC...
That access in all owned by TNC (The Nature Conservancy) now...formally PCTC (Plum creek). All form PCTC rules apply. As any good Montanan should know, always know and respect private property,...

FYI...Born and raised in E. Msla.
Very well said, toast. My sentiment exactly...this is all i was trying to point out. Done.
Rasputin,
If you know so much about the project, maybe you can fill in a couple blanks for. How can they start working on the project when there EIS has no decision on it yet? They have no...
Have you even been up there yet? What they did makes no sense to gain access to this supposed "zip-line". Whatever the case maybe, they didn't put much thought into it consider how much post season...
I should clarify what I mean when I say "grooming". All they did was use the blade on the groomer to push the top 2 feet of snow off the outrun. Not "grooming" by any stretch.
Just up to the corner on the outrun. Simply to have it melt out sooner and discourage folks from a late season tour. Not a huge deal to have to dirt walk a bit, but why waste the diesel just to be...
Another classic Snowbowl dick move...groom the snow off the outrun to keep post season skier away. Goddamn they can be cock suckers. Snowbowl just gave you firm "Fuck You" to Missoulians...FYI.
Late march is the best time in the Missions IMHO. Late April to early May also offers great touring and the trailheads can be accessed too.
It's tricky right now. Mission have a meaty slab (100-125cm) sitting on a Dec. PWL. Not really the time to step to stout lines, but the Missions have it all if you choose you tour wisely. It's an...
Ripped a top to bottom run on Sentinal this morning. Including a couple turns on the "M"...you know it's deep in Msla when that can go down.
Props to the Bowl's Lifty crew for the hard work this week and for making everything run a tad more efficient. Solid work...
Had similar observations yesterday in the Moose Lake area. Windslabs to 12" on and near ridgetops though no results with ski cuts. I was most concerned about a rather meaty slab sitting on small...
I could give two shits about Ronnie and Brad...I love negative press about thoes two
All Ski Area Special Use Permits, issued by the USDA Forest Service, should be put out for competative bid when they come up for renewal. If a ski resorts wants to make significant money by...
Check out Yurt Ski. They are located out of Seeley Lake, Montana. Probably an 8-9 hr drive from SLC. You can rent sleds in Seeley Lake and hit some sled skiing spots in Swan then head to the yurt....
Rumors about broken lifts that the bowl are usually 99% true...
Might be waiting for a while dude...Lavelle is broken. Or so I heard...classic. Glad thoes pass prices went up.
Pretty sure you don't know me, because if you did, I think the last word to describe me would be "jerk". Sorry if I offended you "cloud_cult"...just looking for folks with similar interest and...
Yo! New to the whole TGR thang, but thought I would give a shout out for potential backcountry partners this season. Lost a couple solid partners this year to new babies, moves, and other bullshit...
