Went up to Rabbit Ears last weekend. The snow quality was actually quite good in areas not continually baked by the sun. Bluebird day, BBQ, and kicker. And hauling ass at 50mph behind a snowmobile....

Did you get in on that Avy course? I'm not sure a Silverton trip is going to to be worth it coming from Denver any time soon. I am keeping my fingers crossed for spring. Best snow in the state is up...

A 27.5 would be a good fit for you in a touring boot. I have a 10.5 shoe, ski. 26.5 in a performance fit, and a 27.5 for a touring boot.

I'm pretty sure all the base reports are BS. Silverton reports a 40" base and I'm skiing ankle deep on Rope-de 4 and willows in the gullies. Not to say it wasn't fun.

Yeah, Colorado is getting hammered right now and it will continue. Most resorts still have a 20" base. Maybe there will be some skiable terrain when I get back from Whistler on the 28th.
