I can also vouch for PJ/Race Stock. He did a couple of my boots back in the day. There's actually some connection between him and the guy at Skinner's, but I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

Bob Skinner's at Sunapee is pretty good. (Or, they were 3 seasons ago. Haven't been back since). If I needed a real boot fitting, that's where I'd go - and I'm not even in the area.

I got a lighter setup. Somewhere around ~12lbs total. Bottom line: I have less pain and discomfort with these skis, vs the heavier ones.

Thanks for the replies. I caved and bought some short (170cm), skinny (85mm) and light (1100g) touring skis, and bindings. Total rig should add up to somewhere in the 5-6 lbs per foot range....

There were two mountains I know of that remained open to uphill travel until melt out. I took advantage of both, but no others.
