I own MX98 in 184 and 194.
For your need of cheaper one you have 2 options:
- Monster 98 in 184 (I also own them in 184 and 191). Can be found really cheap. IMO better than MX98 almost everywhere....

They're a bit the same kind of skis, but DP Pro+ are even faster (than every freeride ski in fact), and way less forgiving. In 4 words, a lot more dangerous!!! And a lot more fragile.

I bought my Solis one year ago on the BC website, and skins have been delivered with the specific hook fitting the tip cutout.

Skins sold for the Solis are equipped with a special hook fitting this cuttout.

Solis are not light but definitely not heavy. Mount them with ATK R12 or FR14 and it's a real good combo for steep....

Conceirning the MX98, IMO there's no need to detune them. They're perfect as they are, not grabby.
