just signed ten pages of bullshit today and was like why don't you just pay me now
Where is this market going?
Got some VDE when it looked like Iran might get invaded, but decided not worth the hassle.
Got burned on VXX election day, but did a big VOO buy.
My guess still good amount of up before a huge crash within the next 4 years. I'm not selling, but planning to do less buying in the brokerage account. Not sure what to do with the small amount of BND I have...been annoyed to have it since buying. No change in 401k. Still transitioning t-bills to t-notes or cd's above 4%.
Don't worry Iran will get invaded. A lucrative dust up waiting to happen
I expect inflation over the next several years.
More tax cuts and deficit spending, trade wars, and no political will to allow rates to be high enough to curb inflation.
I expect that money will go looking for yield in risk assets.
People still need to eat. Although RFK jr. is going to make food more expensive and the shelf life is going to be a few days at best once it hits the grocery store shelves. Just buy whatever billionaires on Trump's good list and you should be fine. Those Trump supporting billionaires are going to line up at the federal gov't trough and load up on no bid contracts.
Where are prediction markets on whether the bond vigilantes will be the hedge against significant tariffs and deficit spending? Shorting treasuries over the next 2 years would be my aggressive play if I didn't have mouths to feed.
Investor mags, I need a bit of hand holding through how this all works. I opened a Fidelity account, transferred in $1000 to start. I am looking to invest in SGOV, short term Tbill ETF fund, looks like it should return about 4.6% after fees. My questions are this:
Do I just do a transfer from my account into this fund, then what, how do they pay me my "profits", monthly, daily? I read the prospectus and didn't see any time limits, long or short, or odd fees from Fidelity's side.
It all seems so easy, what am I missing in the mechanics of this (not looking for investing advice here, though would be glad to share goals as a secondary to my original question).
Just want to make sure I'm not sending my money out into the internet to never return.
And you can choose if you want your monthly distributions to be reinvested (stay in SGOV) or paid as cash to your sweep account.
Thanks mags, went ahead and bought a position
Fidelity is safe and easy with great tools. I use Fidelity. As you may know, the interest on a short term t-bill account is based on the monthly payout annualized. If short rates go down so will your forward yield. There is a menu item in your account that will say whether you re-invest the interest or pay to cash.
I sold all my equity positions about a month ago I'm 100% bonds:
25% HYS
35% BINC
35% PDI
7%. PAXS
combined yields around 8.5%
I’m still lomg vix, barely, sldmany in that fake crash.
Dumped half the tech stocks I bought the last two yrs.
Sld coin 200-250, way to soon but still have SQ small crypto play, a the only one that hasn’t launched yet.
I’m still lomg vix, barely, sld any in that fake crash. I’m doubling my money and never selling until I get a pop. It’s comming.

Sld coin 200-250, way too soon but still have SQ small crypto play, and the only one that hasn’t launched yet. 100k was my target for btc.
VIX as a long term holding? Bold strategy Cotton.
Oz over CMS and RFK for HHS, bail on science based healthcare stocks... invest in snakeoil!
I think RFK is just a tool to make sure big pharma is spending their lobbying money Donny's way. Small companies, R&D, education, and public will get the short end. NIH hands out A LOT of money and yeah, I bet a lot will end up going to snake oil.
Honestly, I think this is the best we can hope for. Or Donny just focusses on grifting and all the clowns are too busy tripping over each other to get anything accomplished.
When I sold my equity I also lowered exposure to treasury in favor of corporates, bank notes, and other forms of non agency credit.
Dup
don’t confuse him with the facts.
Lol, Wow, that is up there with the guy who was buying DOW thinking it was a DJI ETF...at the time the company was actually doing better than the index, but he really got burned if still holding.
Pretty sure Cono is talking share prices and not years.
$80ish per share, not 1980ish
According to the Interwebz, there are approx. 2.2 million full-time federal employees, and about 1.4 million of them fall under military-defense programs, the Dep't of Veteran Affairs, and the Dep't of Homeland Security. I'd bet that after 4 more Trump years, the federal workforce dips to 2.1 million, maybe they break below 2.0 and approach 1.9M.
It's a great whipping post in the meida, but dropping 1 million federal workers would do nothing to the federal budget and seems very unlikely. I bet they put in a hiring freeze, make teleworking miserable again, and offer early retirement options to get a 0.5% - 1.0% cut in the workforce.
Berksire Hathaway continuing to stock pile cash (over $325B with a 3rd quarter increase of 17.4%).
End of October saw peak gold price at $2,800.00
Do these things signal an end to the bull run?
What do you look for finance mags?
cash is king
how much is stuffed into your mattress?
look at the "commercial real estate crash" hype that media fed to you for two years
all you heard about is how it's going to crash and shits going to hit the fan
whose paying attention now? Did that crash happen?
sure did and plenty of people sitting on the sidelines are happily and quietly paying nickels on the dollar and swooping up distressed as well as prime commercial property
I follow the denver commercial market and it's hilarious what people are paying
same with the stock maket and other investments
sit on some cash and wait for a bargin
I think the first year of Trump's term will be good for the markets. Then reality will set in and the market will be mostly stagnant until he's gone.
^^^ I think you are correct however reality could set in and be a lot more painful than merely stagnant.
