Cleveland is really going to have to massage this situation with the fanbase.
It's probably going to feel gross cheering for Bill-Cosby-lite.
Seems like a lot to give up for a guy currently in the midst of 20+ civil lawsuits. lol...

My first thought: is guaranteed actually guaranteed? For example: if someone is found liable for multiple instances of sexual misconduct...certainly, the NFL can't let that person suit up and on to the field. Is that person still paid?
Did the Brown just make a trrrrbl decision despite Watson's obvious football talent?
may not be hearing as much rapelisberger jokes from the browns fans, seems the moral high ground has shifted
:)
Danno, you've been funny lately--keep up the solid work!
Watson's base salary this year is $1 million. If (when) he's suspended he'll lose a portion of that. Gross.

It is pretty hilarious that the Browns said all of that nonsense about wanting an adult at QB. I guess sexual assault and misconduct makes you a grown ass man? lol...
BTW, it's confirmed that all 230 million is fully guaranteed. That's insanity.
230 million AND they're coughing up 3 first round picks. That's some good crack they're getting in Cleveland.
In continued AFC west nuclear arms race, Juju is going to KC on a one year deal.
The Chargers need to get the honey badger .
I'm surprised Houston didn't get Mayfield in the trade. He's better than anyone else they have or would expect to get, right?
Crazy offseason
This is like the Herschel Walker trade if Walker had also just faced serious criminal charges. Probably not great company in terms of historical trades, regardless.
As I said in the Browns thread, I’m a Baker guy and wanted the team to roll with him. He earned that I thought.
They are in win now mode. And I don’t know how everyone will reconcile their fandom moving forward.
Pittsburgh sure enjoyed their two Super Bowl parades with Ben at the helm, I know that. If Watson gets the Browns there, I’m sure the parade route will be crowded as well.
It’s a weird cognitive separation fandom creates.
Is this what it was like to be a Pittsburgh fan for the last 15 years? I don’t think I’m going to like it.
What’s the old saying? Win, but at what cost?
Again, for those in the cheap seats, I wanted to roll with Baker. My young son got a Baker jersey for Christmas. His request. I haven’t had the heart to tell him what’s going on.
Maybe Baker with still be under center for the first half of the season…

I wonder what the Falcons fan base here in town would have said if he chose ATL.
I see Matty Ice at my kid’s school every week and he’s a total class act. Something tells me there would not be half the uproar if Watson were replacing him like what we’re seeing in CLE right now.
Myself included.
Hey Baker, if you’re a skier and happen to be reading this: Seahawks like short QBs and you’re toughness is valued up here. Lumen Field is pretty nice too, great Master Bedroom.
I don’t think I you will have to worry. The Browns will never have the success the Steelers have had the last 15

Well we know Watson can hit a target right in the chest at least, so there’s that.
The difference is Pittsburgh drafted Big Ben..
Browns fans are desperate for a QB they might look past the all the bad if it means competing with a tough division, conference, and giving themselves a chance..
Someone had to take on the roll of sketchy AFC North QB now that Benny's gone
I thought he was more in to face shots? 🥁
Some good reads about the whole situation -

I’m not really a browns fan, but I do like Baker. Shitty situation they put him in.
Geez, is that what SI is these days, hot takes in print? Those are terrible reads. First one, the Browns do business like every other successful team (point to any winning team bringing in a shitbag who can ball out; Pats, Bengals, Steelers, TB, the list goes on) and they get called out for not staying in their role of lovable loser?
The second one, we ask an old WR with no insight into the locker room for his opinion on Baker? Ok then.
And I’m on record that I‘m not a fan of the move and would rather roll with Mayfield.
SI wants to be Barstool
Barstool at least has memes.
I'm still in disbelief over what the Browns just did, dude is 28-26 as a starter and could be suspended for being an asshole
Apparently Antonio Brown wants to play for the Browns now. Perfect
