Yes, if you’ve had chicken pox you can get shingles, that’s how people get shingles. The shingles vaccine is recommended for people 50 and older. Your risk of long term pain from nerve damage increases as you get older.
Did you read your link in it’s entirety? Chicken pox vaccine can prevent shingles in children. You’ve had chicken pox, get vaccinated for shingles when you turn 50. The virus is still in your body. Or don’t, I really don’t care if you suffer.
These posts about shingles And chicken pox should leave no doubt in anyone’s mind that you have zero understanding of the issues you argue about in this thread.

We're laughing at you for not even reading the article you posted to the end.
Shingles is reactivation of the dormant chicken pox virus you got the first time. The vaccine is for preventing reactivation, mostly in the over 50 age group.
mtu you are wrong about the shingles vaccine
Rebuttal! I can’t rebut your argument it’s rebutted itself!
Just consult your doctor about all available vaccines.

I don’t think it’s really fair to call all the vax hesitant and COVID deniers stupid. Take mtu, I think that the real problem is ignorance not stupidity. A lot of these folks have an incurious mind and can’t read beyond the headlines. Critical thought was never encouraged and any sort of intellectual thought discouraged.

We all mask consistently in public environs as well as having had the vax with the silent consonant. We also have natural antibodies, but don't want the covidz.
From a high level, it's interesting to think about who's really thinking about what's good for the community versus whos thinking about their induhvidual freedums infringed upon.
While Mt. Ripley r00lz (trestles!) and lots of schmart people spent time in Houghton/Hancock, I'm not sure there's sufficient saturation of the common good.
This thread is really bringing out the stupid in a grandiose fashion.
1. If you choose not to get vaccinated, you should have to pay out of pocket if you end up needing medical attention. Refusing a vaccination and then making a subsequent claim for a trip to the ER or ICU is the definition of entitlement. I hate insurance companies as much as the next guy but even I don't see why they should have to pay for some asshole's political jizz sock.
2. Employers should absolutely have the right to protect their employees however they see fit. I manage about 40+ people in an office. We are a tight group. Most of us spend more waking hours around each other than our own families in a given week. I do not want someone or their family getting sick because someone else made a choice not to get a vaccine, even when we offered cash incentives to do so. Don't want the shot? Work somewhere else--maybe that restaurant in the OC. You're not entitled to a given job. Forgoing vaccination is a choice you made and there are absolutely consequences. No, it is not remotely the same as gender, sexual orientation or race, so fuck off. Not saying that's our current policy but I'm not against the right for employers to require vaccination.
3. Our country is fucking soft as baby shit. There was a time we forwent wage increases while volunteering to run through a wall of bullets for the good of our country. Now we're too soft and selfish to wear a piece of cloth over our face, let alone get a shot for the good of our fellow country people. Again, entitlement at an all time high. Fucking whiny ass bitches too soft to wear a mask.
4. Regarding Oklahoma and the Holocaust patch: At least they're no longer denying it?
5. If we're going to survive as a nation, we have to stop rewarding people for ignoring science. It has literally become a contest to see who can be the most ignorant. The fact that our politicians seem to embrace lies and ignorance will be our undoing.
If you don't get vaccinated and don't have a medical reason for forgoing it, fuck you. You are not smarter or more patriotic or exercising your god given right or sticking it to big pharma or getting Trump back in office. You're just a selfish asshole, period.

Some classics on this page lol.
We are really reaping the last 40 years of “rugged individualism”, anti-intellectual and “fear the government” rhetoric.
