September road trip to maritimes looking likely and there’s a bc park in Quebec friends visited in’20 I hope to check out this Winter. Of course good to have mags coming down to Jay the Whites and Katahdin this Winter and OLd Orchid Beach just isn’t the same without you

you can trust both. England (the first article) is reporting on those who received 'at least one shot' while the ap article about the US is reporting on 'fully vaccinated' people. In England they had a policy of getting everyone the first shot without worrying so much when they get the second. why do you have such a hard on for the 75% number. Most scientific studies I have read say between 70% to 80% to return to a prepandemic lifestyle. There IS a requirement to have some sort of number to inform policy, so they chose 75%. It's not magic, it's just a number.

And The missing parameter across the 2 articles you posted is complete vaccination vs. partial vaccination. The first UK one is reporting on all deaths recieving at least 1 dose; the US article uses full vaxxed vs. single dose+unvaxxed in it's analysis. See those above links for more on variants the breakout in symptomatic infection and hospitalization with 1 vs 2 doses of different vaccine(s).

Hopefully they will allow for under 12 unvaccinated kids to accompany families. My in laws in Calgary are dying to see our kids (over 12yos all fully vaccinated) but we have an 11yo who can't be vaccinated yet. Hoping to get to the cabin at Shuswap with them this summer.

Yeah, you'll be good to go. The current requirements for fully vaxxed Canadians returning to Canada is a test within 72 hours before you hit the border, a test at the border, and a place/plan to quarantine (if required).
