Ignoring all the other ranting in this thread, I'm wondering what they mean by "Canadians" with this new rule. Is it Canadian residents? Or is it everyone who falls into the "right to enter Canada" category that now appears with the recent update to the ArriveCan app (which includes Canadian citizens living abroad)?Quote:

Meanwhile starting 2/28 the PCR test requirement is getting dropped!!!! Hopefully they do away with the random tests too.

So far, it has meant residents. My brother and sister-in-law are both dual citizens living in the states, have crossed twice recently, and were treated as visitors, i.e. vax requirement/test/app and "random" on the spot test that wasn't random.Quote:

They called them random tests, but at some crossings they administer them to everyone who crosses (and at other crossings without test facilities on-site, they give ~50% of travelers a take-home test kit).Quote:

that same person also made a reference to speeding tickets being up. well, from my observations, cops have been on vacation since covid started. at the same time, pedestrian deaths are up due to lack of enforcement and more drivers since no one is on mass transit. even if it was true, would enforcement of the laws be a bad thing when those laws protect innocent people?
i wonder if you could apply the same logic to masks, vaccines, capacity limitations, and border crossings. curious.
