oldman at 63?
Sweet Thunderbolt shots Dangur. Your oldman is only a couple years older than me. Awesome that you're enjoying together...:yourock:
It was a tight get in to this zone today at Sugarbush. Deep snow pack, we typically skin right under. Attachment 272370Attachment 272371

Ok, so thinking of quick day trip from Brooklyn options...
Has anyone been through Harriman state park and skied the old silvermine ski area in there? Is there any snow around there these days?
Expectations are low, but hoping for a little coverage after tonight’s storm.
I love Plattekill, but not the 3 hours drive each way...
High tide and rising for sure. Snow was punchy with the crust underneath but just had to hop turn like it's 1999.
Pic is the uptrack yesterday. Sorry phone died so no other pics. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...18bf07c5dc.jpg

Glad you all enjoyed the pics. My dad got a kick out of the comments, but did have one correction to make - he's only 62. Meh. Close enough.
And yes it is great that we can still do this kind of thing. The adventure really started 20 years ago, when he put me in ski lessons just down the road from Greylock, at Brodie. Anybody remember that place? It's always nice to get back to the neighborhood.
And mardi gras beads (or was that just for mardi gras?) and slush jump... great hill.
So much great stoke from the last week, Whites to Dad skiing to bushWhacking. Get after it!
Warm and sunny bob with a fresh inch [1"] of fluffy snow.
Visitor from the north arrived Thursday evening for the weekend. Spent Friday on a driving tour of the northern Hills where there is a ton of snow and high banks.

Looped SE to South Royalton for Flatbread Friday at First Branch, What a great space and pies, 5 stars. Picked up some drops and Reset [which I've yet to try].

Easy pickings in the backyard Saturday with several of the best lines untracked, looked like Surface Whore or Ducky were picking some fruit.

Snow was manky as fuck, no relaxing while skiing. Sunk in to my knees during transitions.

A snowballs throw from where Snowdays' picture was taken.

As usual the Zenbarn delivered Saturday night. Always amazing to watch someone play that is one of the worlds best up close. I don't think I can randomly move my fingers as fast as heiresses notes. Hoping to catch Yonder in Sante Fe.

Great weekend, got to get to work today.

Chalky snow makes everything ski pretty well. Two hero entrances were fun, even with only an inch of fresh. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4ba2d2fe95.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fb3f51c0e0.jpg

I’ve done it. It is fun when there’s enough snow. I looked at it on Saturday and it wasn’t in great shape but if the snow that fell yesterday doesn’t melt and we get a little more, it’ll be good enough.

Edit: It’s not anywhere close to as much fun as Plattekill though
Back from Florida. The fishing wasn't good unless you were a heron :)

Time to get back to skiing!
Thanks, Brownski
Checked out your blog too, and love it.
Word on the ground from spring valley this morning was 8” of snow on the ground there from the storm. I think I’m going to hit this tomorrow. If anyone wants a ride from Brooklyn let me know...
I’m sure Plattekill would be way more fun to ski, but for numerous family and work reasons, I can’t spare the extra time.
Hurray skiing on frozen grass!!
I wasn't going to post about my crappy "tour" at one of the few hills in Middlesex County (MA) this afternoon, until I saw this guy. I stepped off the trail to take a leak, unzipped, looked up, and caught him in a tree staring at me and... yawning. Apparently he wasn't impressed. Oh well.

EDIT: I believe that guy^ is a fisher. I'd never seen one before, though I have heard them.
The turns were not so good. 13 inches on the car this morning had compressed to about 8" of slow mank by 3:30 this afternoon. This area could use a little pruning, too... Should have brought my XC skis and stuck to the fire roads.
At least the light was pretty on the slog out.
