I am thoroughly annoyed that I have to throw away an almost perfectly good, immaculate looking 19 year old washer, only because they used plastic gears in the non-rebuildable transmission.
And, of course the transmission is no longer available. I found a possible link to one for $629. More than the cost of the washer.
At least the Memorial Day sales are still active… but of course the dryer will have to match…

Happy day, boys! I get to go walk across the street and have a camera unceremoniously shoved up my innocent, unsuspecting wang.
Well, at least someone is touching it, I guess.
I doubt very much that your wang is innocent.
But still... +++vibes+++
I'm guessing that the reason for the "have to match" would be posted in this thread.
An option for the teak table would be to oil it. Much easier to maintain than polyurethane or other film finish and you can let it go back to gray if you get tired of reoiling every few years.

It’s a lifetime purchase. I’m not in the market, I’m still using a Kenmore washer and dryer bought new in 1993. Looks like they were built by Speed Queen though. Sadly lacks a bedding setting

That's actually just a recipe on the left hand side there. Provecho!
I view it as a menu. Put clothes in wash, order some wine for the wait.

I got notice of a refund from the local hospital system, to a credit card number that did not look familiar. I went into my account and could find no explanation. I sent them a message asking what it was about. Well, it was a refund from something from 3 years ago, and without contacting me they just refunded it to the card that was charged at the time. A card I no longer have, from an an address that is 2 homes ago. WTF?
I have no idea how and whether I will ever get the money. I assume that if the credit card company gets a refund to a closed account they would send a check, but no idea if that happens. And no idea if that check will ever find me.
That’s bizarre. I cant believe they wouldn’t send a chk because of this exact situation. I’m annoyed by this dumb assery and it didn’t even happen to me!
Exactly. The message response I got was so matter of fact, no recognition that the charge was 3 years ago, and a simple "we refunded to the card that was originally charged, maybe you no longer have that card?" No shit sherlock.
Thankfully, I have current cards with Citi, Chase, BarclayCard, and US Bank, so they may have my current address even if the card in question was closed when I was at my old home in Boulder.
State governments have unclaimed money websites. Check yours. I did this a few months ago and I’ve received a half dozen checks. If amounts are small, you do the math to see if the brain damage is worth it. For me the principle of getting what is mine made it worth it to get a $5 refund check. Total received was over $1000 though.
Wait ...., three years ago??
A new world's record for speedy turn around.
I always pay cash up front for my co-pay for a medical visit, and without fail 3-5 days later get a bill in the mail for the co-pay amount. Made the mistake of paying it the first time, because ...... geezer. 6 months later a get a refund check.
Bald faced hornets annoy me. They set up shop in the tailgate of my old Power Wagon. Got stung on the thumb closing the tailgate.

My MIL arguing against socialized healthcare... while being on socialized healthcare. That shit is annoying.
Now the abandoned property sites are something that truly fucking annoys me. I totally support the concept somewhere back in the early 2000s in CA, the state enacted really tight timeframes into how quickly the money would be deemed abandoned so if the whirlwind on life it’s easy to ignore an old account you have and then next thing you know it’s at the state. The main issue is the Unclaimed dept is overwhelmed and their process is slow as fuck to process claims if they are of any significant size. I had an old acct that got sent and it took 6 mos before they even started the claim and nearly another 8 before it was resolved. Meanwhile the state gets to arbitrage the fuck out of that money interest free. It’s not an easy task and prob full of fraud to weed through but mind bending when you have a good chunk of cash stuck there. Super fucking annoying x1000
You bet it is!

Can I suggest pissing on her?
Don't get me started on medical billing. The entire system is such a complete shitshow. Last year I had to take my daughter to the ER. Said I was paying cash and wanted to pay everything right then and there. They even told me I'd get a discount by paying right away! Sweet. Well, OF COURSE I got a pile of follow-up bills for all the other independent entities that operate in that hospital so whatever. I was kind of expecting that. That's not what annoyed me though. What pissed me off was I paid all of them, but then got a follow-up for one I already paid. Like $500. Then continued to get threatening nastygrams saying they'd send me to collections and all that. Called and they confirmed that yes, I had paid it before it was due in the first place. Wife saw one final one and went ahead and paid it not realizing it was the same one we had already paid. The PAST DUE letters stopped coming, but then like 6 months later we receive a refund check for that same amount saying we had "overpaid." FFS. :nonono2:
