That's a point that they don't emphasize to would be nurses and doctors etc. People are sick 24/7/365. I don't think anyone works nights for the money--not in nursing anywayy. They do it because they're new hires and they have to, because they don't have childcare, or to be in the hospital when the doctors aren't. And some just like the lifestyle.
That was Ms Boissal's case for the longest time. She'd bang out night shifts then go skiing or biking and take off on trips whenever she had a few days off.
She's about 10 years into it by now and it's starting to wear her down, I think she's looking forward to transitioning into a more standard schedule and be done with nights. The differential pay is definitely not worth it and the constant beatdown from having to readjust to a new schedule is taking its toll. People are constantly swapping shifts within her team, she used to be the go-to for picking up night shifts, but she's at the point where she won't touch an extra night with a $1000 pole.
If nurses want to pick up extra bucks they do double shifts--at least in hoospitals that do 8 hoour shifts. Much more lucrative than working regular nights. Mostly, though, when nurses do doubles it's not the money, it's because patients need taking care of and that's what nurses do.
Let her know I moved into Case Management a couple years ago and it’s been fantastic. 8-4:30 like a normal person. Highest RN pay in the hospital.

Moving retirement 401k accounts. My personal Schwab account where I want the money says the current shitty retirement company needs to mail the check to them and current shitty company says the request has to come from Schwab. Plus shitty company is closed to observe Good Friday.
Might be easier to get the old company to send you the check, made out to the Schwab account (not you). Get the details on how it should be made out from Schwab. Make sure they don't do withholding for taxes. Then when you get the check send it to Schwab.
I would not want a 401k check sent to me, that sounds like a hudge headache waiting to happen.
Shrug. It's still considered a direct rollover and not subject to the 60 day limit (or withholding) as long as the check is made out to the destination rollover account and not you personally. And if something goes wrong (like the check getting lost), at least you know which bank was responsible.
Still, that's enough of a clusterfuck to make somebody scream.
I'm kind of annoyed that the rollover process is so fuckin' antiquated. STILL.
Related to OP: That stinky, stealthy motherfucker that repeatedly released their toxic crop-dusting on a packed plane.
So much so, I had to get up and move, which made me look like the guilty party.
Couldn't even give the perpetrator tho proper stink-eye, as they were anonymous.
Could have just stood up and screamed, "where the fuck is that ungodly stench coming from?????", glaring at all nearby passengers.
Nobody would have suspected you.
Missed opportunity to claim it for gnar points
Lol, I was fully surrounded by other rad dad families, most of us having been around for over 20 years, I could probably name all of the suspects on here with many people being familiar.

As always, I’m torn between posting in the shit that Annoys vs Amuses You threads.
It’s location dependent. Heavily travelled paths need to be bagged and removed. More remote, flick with a stick as long as it’s real woods and not creekside or desert etc.

In my own yard I have an awesome plastic lifelink shovel and fling the poo in the woods. But it’s only one dog. Why bag and landfill shit?
Need a sharpie, turn those ti’s into u’s.
