Politcal yard signs annoy me. No one in history has ever changed their vote because of a yard sign. The only reason people put up signs is to show solidarity with their tribe and to annoy the other tribe. Like the guy who put up a Trump sign on his back deck facing our back yard, where only we could see it. Landlord made him take it down. OTOH the guy came rushing over with a fire extinguisher when I had a grease fire in my grill--a good guy, except for poltics.
Yeah, I was looking forward to getting to know our across the street neighbors until they put up a sign for the wrong mayoral candidate (Rene Gonzalez). Now I know they may be nice guys but their politics are off kilter. Rene "ouch, you touched me, police!" Gonzalez has had a number of disqualifying incidents recentlyQuote:

Pretty much. There's a lady in my neighborhood (mom of my daughter's friend) who has a new "Swifties for Harris" sign. Not sure she'll exactly sway the Trumpy boomers in my hood, but whatever. In Truckee people don't dare put signs in their yards. All the signs are in public rights of way in strategic spots and there will be signs for Trump, Harris and pretty much all the down ballot candidates all in one place, so no help there. The partisan offices are easy; I don't think I've ever split a ticket in my life. For the non partisan ones--like PUD directors I check out the local nonprofit monthly, Moonshine Ink, or, if I'm desperate, I might actually read a candidate statement or listen to a forum. Or not vote for the office.

It’s subtly interesting that last weekend one of the local parties distributed yard signs on one of the 2 ways to get to the early polling place and the number of people ( 50%) who put up down ballot and skipped the orange guy at the head. Not of course the guy with th un conspiracy yard sign.
