"Shit flows downhill, and pay day's on Friday"
Can confirm that having lost the fingernail on my pointer finger a couple times. Maybe not as sensitive as "just the tip" off, but it'll still get the message through

Yup. Nasty weapons those mandolines. Wife calls it the Mangler, but still loves to use it despite it biting the end of her finger badly. Stitches in the fingertip are very painful despite anesthetic apparently. I use it for sauerkraut and scalloped potatoes, and never without that guard/holder thingy.
The mangler! I love it, I can honestly say this is the first time I used it without the holder thing (and lost time), just got in a hurry and paid the price. Can confirm, there are a whole lot of nerves in the end of the finger that defy anesthetic.

The Mandoline Wince, it excels at taking just enough of to be painful.
I use mine for rösti
My fiancé gives me a dirty look every time I pull it out of the cabinet.
Equally adept at slicing your hands in terrible ways is fucking plastic clamshell containers where you need to rip off a strip to delicately pry open the two razor sharp edges that will, despite your best efforts, find a way to cut you.
Fuck anyone who puts anything in this clear plastic packaging.
We've got one of these: https://www.amazon.com/DASH-Mandolin...NsaWNrPXRydWU=
Works well and completely safe.
Oh sure, now you tell me!

Skidog getting unbanned and immediately cunting up thread after thread. That shit's annoying.
I use a mandoine the most for slicing onions--one of the best ways to cut yourself with a knife. With a good guard I think the mandoline is safer for slicing round stuff.
Fucking mandolins.
I’m sure he’ll be banned again soon enough. Hopefully for good this time.
My dad in the ICU with a virus somehow affecting his heart annoys me. And not getting much info from my mom.
Edit: surgical procedure to drain fluid from a sac by his heart. That’s all I know, annoying.
Ditto
Having your last leg of a plane trip cancelled because not enough employees showed up to unhook the terminal and deice plane. Having to wait 2 hours on runway before going back to terminal sucks too. Then waiting another 2 hours for JetBlue to officially cancel Flight now 3 am. Get rebooked on a new flight at 3 Pm the next day except instead of Boston where my car they want me to go to Worcester. Told will have to figure out how to get to Boston on my own from Worcester. End up renting a car a jfk at 5 in the morning and driving to Boston. Bonus points for stopping at a mcds in nyc to get coffee and some crazy bum telling my wife he was going to kill her and the kids. Annoying day.
He apparently stopped in Queens for coffee. And it wasn't a good experience. Huh.
Same here.
It would have taken a lot of strength for me not to snap on that guy. On a related note I've heard nothing but horror stories about JetBlue these past few years. Seems not that long ago they were the darlings of the industry and then just went downhill fast (I'm sure covid helped too, but hey).
Clearing ice dams in a blizzard is pretty annoying.
